Indeed. Yay for Alan Davis. At least it will look good. :)

I will be picking it up for Alan Davis' work alone, but, honestly, Fraction's interviews do nothing to make me like his work any more than I already don't.

I do not like Alan Davis' art. I never have.

Really? I think his work in the early Claremont run of Excalibur and his few issues on Uncanny (and the Annual) are really good. I never liked his stuff post about 1991 (which is weird since it doesn't look that much different to me, it just seems "stiffer").

Yeah me too. I wasn't going to pick this up because of Alan Davis (and Fraction) but I don't want to miss out on X-Men progress.

so they still haven't noticed the third leg in that namor picture?

Bingo!

I thought I noticed a disembodied pair of ankle wings.

Edit: That leg could belong to another Dark X-Man. Possibly Daken?

The color and pattern on the leg matches Sabretooth's. Take that as you will.

I wonder what's going to happen that's going to make Osborn "grudgey" since I can't recall any reason why he'd treat this more "personal" and "Green Gobliney" than any of his other actions.

"Did I stutter? [Laughs]" Ugh. Just ugh.

Alan Davis hate must stop. Davis at least takes his time to draw his characters and not copy. They also do not have those creepy smiles.

He will lose and be backstabbed by Emma, that's the only reason.

I was/am hoping to not get another "wait, she's not really a bad guy again" situation.

But you will, of course. I mean, Fraction is the one saying she has NEVER been evil, after all...

What a timed coincidence that this plot has already been explored many times over.

I love the way he just rewrites history with no abandon.

There was never any doubt in my mind that it would go down this way. The crossover seems to be shaping up rather quite nicely though. Fraction is juggling a lot of characters, and seems to be in awe of Bendis as he writes the Dark Avengers. Some characters voices are off a bit... but when you have a crossover involving this many characters... some eggs are going to break.

I'm going to break ranks for a bit Omega and say that Fraction can deliver something solid from this crossover. I think this basically gets us out of California and sets us up for the next big ride.

What plot, you mean Emma seemingly betraying the X-Men?

As far as I know this was only done once before, in Whedon's Astonishing, and then there was actually some doubt if it was for real or not. This time it's been made very clear it's just a game she's playing with Osborn to guarantee mutant survival. At least if you've followed all the related stories, I understand it might be different for someone who only picked up Utopia and Uncanny #513.

"Only" once? I think having the exact same plot twice in less than 3 years is too much (not to mention that, with the time AXM took to come out, it last almost 3 years too). Not to mention you had that cover for X-men #200 which had a lot of people wondering whether Emma was joining Sinister or not (and while it was Malice in disguise, clearly they were trying to make people wonder, and a lot of people did). Seems like every single freakin' year they try to make people question if Emma will betray the X-men, go evil again, etc. It's as overdone as teasing that Jean Grey will return.

I used "only once" as a response to "many times over".

I did not follow future announcements and solicits at the time of the X-Men #200 cover so I was not tricked and affected by it, still I would not have counted it as covers are never reliable as most readers should be aware of by now, and well before the time of the #200 cover as well.

Torn and Utopia has a superficial similarity regarding Emma's loyalty, but that's it, the stories themselves are totally different. And this time it's been made clear to the reader (if not to all the characters) that the betrayal is not for real. Also, Emma's pretty much the only character that could be put in that role, no one would buy it if it was any other X-man/woman, but for her it seems plausible.
