How many people actually like Daken after reading Wolverine #75? I was indifferent to him because I don’t read Wolverine: Origin and his appearance in X-Men Legacy wasn’t anything great. Plus Bendis barely does anything with him in Dark Avengers.
I won’t say that I think he deserves a monthly series but if he is written like he was in this issue I will gladly pick up anything he is in.

i hated him when he was just a character in Wolverine Origins (i thought he was supposed to be the new Sabretooth). then i started to like him when i found out he was going to become a Dark Avenger. now he's just really grown on me. he's refreshingly different.

maybe i'm hallucinating but Daken always seems stockier and hairier when he's wearing the Wolverine costume. that bugs me. i was hoping he'd look like a taller sleeker version of his dad. but just becomes a clone when in costume.

Well Wolverine Origins sucks... so I haven't read him in that since he wasn't in the first arc. I plan on getting Original Sin when it comes out in TPB. And will get Dark Avenger and Dark X-Men... not because of him though. So I'll get some exposure soon enough. I don't like the idea of Wolverine having a kid mostly because it never stays. Doesn't he have a daughter already and we haven't even heard from her in how long? Plus... we get enough Wolverine and now we have X-23. Do we really need another Wolverine rip off? Dark Wolverine doesn't sound interesting and has been getting mixed reviews. But if the story is gets continous reviews that are postive I'll pick it up.

ML's collaboration with Way transformed Daken from a generic 'bad-ass' to a character that feels genuinely complex and unpredictable. I've read all of his appearances before, but #75 made me completely fall for him.

him having a daughter didn't work because Logan's a deadbeat dad. Daken works because he's the product of a deadbeat dad. Logan has every reason for not checking up on Daken; unlike that girl.

I like him b4 but love him now even more. It goes back to the argument that almost all if no all characters can be great but it all depends on the writer.
He's got that sex appeal like Bundy, you know he's dangerous but he's also hot (in bundy's case "was hot" lol). Guess that's why ppl in jail get love letters from women liking the excitement of danger.

Wolverine is about 115-120 years old fought in several wars on both sides, walked the earth more times than most people walked the grocery store. Him having just one known child is amazing among itself. How many "pups" have Romulus killed off? Daken can be a breath of fresh air or the same old smoke. I like Logan having not raising his son weighing on his conscious. Besides adult mutant children seems to be the trend these days. Besides Daredevil everybody old school is rocking the cradle. Including Steve Rogers and the Scarlet Witch who happens to be the proud parents of Hope Summers. Told ya first!

I disagree. I find him to be much more interesting than old pops, and he has like 18 minis and ongoings right now. I think he's a very interesting anti-hero with daddy issues which will help with bringing some drama into his stories. I also think that if he does try to become more heroic, that it'll be a fun road to go down as he's trying to come to terms with his more aggressive, not so subtle side. Plus, he'd be the first openly bi character with their own ongoing...I think.

Right.
I don't like the character, I think he's a revolting pig. But then again I do realise that's who he's supposed to be. I wasn't sure how I felt about him being bi-sexual. But then it dawned on me that Daken is proably the kind of guy who feels powerful plowing guys. Sort of like that Chris Meloni character on Oz.

I have the same feelings. Couldn't give a crap about him before, but liked him in this issue.
But still waiting to read the next issue to have a definitive opinion. What I fear is that the writer turns him into a Marie Sue, dismissing the other characters (inculding the FF) to make him look good.
