I feel the same way ... even though I buy only Dynamo 5, Proof & Sword from this week's list.

Of course, having had to skip last week until payday, I'll also be picking up Dynamo 5 #0 & the most recent ishes of Firebreather, Invincible, Noble Causes & Four Eyes & reactivating my HeavyInk subs to Godland & Johnny Monster.

And then I'll be broke again, & then I'll have to skip the following week, & then ... well, you know. Rinse & repeat. Forever.

Dragon and Wolf-man for me. I'll probably get Youngblood to finish the Casey run (though the last three issues weren't so great).

Dragon is the big one for me this week because he's back as a cop. Hopefully a few new fans we'll jump on board. Larsen seems to be making an effort to get people to read the book (and they should it's great  ).

We'll all go broke together, I guess. That's sort of appropriate, given the economy & all.

Yup but i really dont want my LCS to close and alot the Image books are worth it.

Crap -- sorry to hear it.

I was dividing my purchases here between both LCSes in town, but the owner of the latter, whom I thought of as a pretty good friend, got on my bad side the first Wednesday of January & I took all my business to the other place.

Why in hell someone in this business & this economy would say "good riddance!" (a direct quote) as an average of probably $60 a week in purchases was on the verge of walking out the door, I'm damned if I know, but what the hell.

That's two issues in the first two months of 09 for us, with another off to the printer tomorrow!

They're gonna have to take the "i" off the book if we keep this up...

How is it that you can get 8 trades i a huge omnibus for $60, which breaks down to about $1.25 an issue, but Pherone is about 4 issues long for $25, which breaks down to $6.25 an issue?

I know that these things aren't tit for tat, but man, with this and Codeflesh coming in at $34.99 for 128 pages, Image is on crack with their prices.

Walking Dead is a soft cover black & white book and as the top selling Image book it probably has a strong print run so the cost goes down considerably.

Pherone is probably has a much lower print run and it's a full color hard cover book.

I think Codeflesh is a hardcover.

Seems pretty reasonable to me.

Some cool stuff this week including the much awaited return of Jack Staff (at least by me anyway), the pay version of Savage Dragon 148 (if you missed out on the awesome FCBD issue) and the trade of the critically acclaimed "I Kill Giants" which Midtown Comic (where I get most of my release info) lists as Out of Stock. So I have a feeling that one might be hard to find.

But an ideological dispute pitted the noble brotherhood against itself, where they destroyed themselves in a vicious civil war. Chaos descended in their wake, where predatory and scavenger creatures now reign supreme bringing anarchy to the night world of the Shadow Time.

Yet the young mouse Karic receives visions from the gods that their creator Wotan has chosen him to challenge the imbalance and restore the order of the fallen Templar. But before he can even comprehend his supernatural calling, his home is destroyed by vicious rat marauders, and his family is taken into slavery. Karic soon learns of an ancient prophecy that one mouse will be chosen to recreate the heroic exploits of the past, and thereby save his family and his people. But Karic's calling soon makes him both a target of his enemies, and a tool to be exploited by those seeking to use the savior of all for their own schemes.

And thus begins the first chapter in an extraordinary adventure of magic and wonder, faith and valor, and of one small mouse whose destiny might change the entire world.

Yeah it's kind of a pain in the ass. It seems easy enough but it always takes me a half hour to do the list. I used to do a short list but a few people wanted to know prices, creators and synopsis and stuff. Just don't ask me to do every variant edition. I try to get 2nd Printings in there too but once in a while I miss those.

But I think it's good thing to have on the board especially when people always ask when books come out. If people do notice something off please let me know in either the thread or PM. I'd like to get an accurate list as possible.

Proof #22

The Kaboom trade collects a title I've never heard of, & while it sounds promising, there's the dread Jeph Loeb involvement ... Anyone else familiar with this one?

The Evil & Malice, Dynamo 5 & Jersey Gods trades would be must buys if I didn't already own the individual issues.

Tony Chu is a cop with a secret. A weird secret. Tony Chu is Cibopathic, which means he gets psychic impressions from whatever he eats. It also means he's a hell of a detective, as long as he doesn't mind nibbling on the corpse of a murder victim to figure out whodunit, and why. They have plans for him... whether he likes it or not.

Presenting a twisted new series about cops, crooks, cooks, cannibals and clairvoyants, written by JOHN LAYMAN (Marvel Zombies vs. Army of Darkness, House of M: Fantastic Four and PUFFED) with mind-blowing art by astonishing comics newcomer ROB GUILLORY.

CHEW #3
story JOHN LAYMAN, art & cover ROB GUILLORY

Amelia Mintz is a food critic and a Saboscrivner. Her last review caused half the city to projectile vomit, and sent hundreds to the hospital with severe food poisoning. Agent Tony Chu has been assigned to arrest Amelia Mintz, but there’s just one problem with that… he’s madly in love with her!
