Well he is working alot more in Hollywood these days. Plus his Red circle project at DC. And he is writing Brave and the bold ongoing title for the forseeable future and has a not so secret superman project in the pipeline.

And a couple of Image books, and he has half of The Twelve left.

This could likely be it for the JMS/Marvel relationship. It seems that once he didn't stay Exclusive and took DC work , he started taking more on. I think Thor could be his last Marvel work for awhile. If DC is smart they let JMS do a book that needs him.
I'd love to see him relaunch Hawkman as a title .

From the CBR article in the other thread:
The only other thing I can say with regard to Marvel is that after finishing “The Twelve” -- and yes, it's going to be finished come hell or high water -- future projects for Marvel will probably be mini- and maxi-series where all of the scripts are written and being drawn before the book is even solicited. We did this with “Bullet Points” and “Silver Surfer: Requiem” and that worked out just right. The readers can often be very patient, and they've had to bear the burden of the slowed schedule on “Thor,” but going on from here I really want to ensure that books come out when and as they're supposed to. The only way to do that is to have the whole thing written before anyone says boo about it. Not that I know a lot of people who go around saying Boo...I'm just saying.

If your reading The Twelve it doesn't fill your heart that the book will be out in 2009.
Maybe he'll do something later at Marvel after the Twelve. Who knows....but since OMD....its like he's slowly drifted away more and more.

Yeah, I'm not expecting Twelve any time soon sadly
I wouldn't be suprised if he doesn't work at Marvel for a while, just because of the sheer weight of work he seems to have elsewhere.

JMS likely started taking on more work once he was done with the movie Changeling. A lot of his time was involved with being the writer of that movie, and the time he spent on the set doing revisions.

In case you didn't notice, he didn't say it would be out this year. And if you did notice, never mind.

I for one am heartily looking forward to Reginald Hudlin's Thor run.
Although -- spoilers! -- apparently it turns out Thor's racist.
Does this mean Fraction is going to be picking up the book?
Cause I really liked Fractions work on the Thor Minis

I would love it if Franction took over Thor but I don't think he's interested in writing the main book after his work with his Thor specials but I could be wrong (and I would love to be wrong on this).
I will miss JMS on Thor. His work on this title was awesome. It was some of the best stuff he has ever written. I still wish he had finished Squadron Supreme. I still suspect some behind the scenes stuff went on since BOTH he & Gary left the book at the same time! I am hoping we get the last issues of The Twelve.

Looks like I won't be picking up Thor after all. At least not single issues. :frown:

It really depends on who the next writer is before I decide to drop it. There are some writers out there that could get me excited. I doubt it would happen but Brian K Vaughan on Thor? OH yes!
