News is actually a few weeks old I think. I just found out about it today though, and figure others might not have heard. When you buy a kids meal you receive one of four original comics. My mother and sisters got me an Avengers one today. Haven't read it yet though. Any opinions from those that have read them?

The comics they have are

AVENGERS
Written by Joe Caramagna
Illustrated by Cory Hamscher
Colored by Chris Sotomayor

THOR
Written by Paul Tobin
Illustrated by Allan Jefferson
Colored by Chris Sotomayor

CAPTAIN AMERICA
Written by Joe Caramagna
Illustrated by Scott Koblish
Colored by Chris Sotomayor

FANTASTIC FOUR
Written by C.B. Cebulski
Illustrated by Sara Pichelli
Colored by Val Staples

 I've never seen any promotions for this, but it's not like I've been browsing my local Taco Bells.

Good choice for the kiddies.

"Mommy, why isn't Captain America getting up?"

Damn, I wish fast food restaurants in the UK did stuff like this. I have to say, of the four books on offer, the Fantastic Four one looks the most appealing to me. Of course the fact that Sara Pichelli is doing the artwork is a big draw, but I’m wondering if this is a brand new FF story or is it a re-print?

Also, worth mentioning, is that I initially assumed from the cover art of the Captain America comic (reproduced below), that this was a reprint of the death of Captain America issue? Which would've been an odd choice for an introductory, free comic book I'd say. However, the creative team, as listed above in Tater's post shows that this isn't the case.

So are these all-new stories of are they reprints?

EDIT: Also, I've just found out after a cursory browse online that these are only half-length comic books...12 pages apparently. Still, not bad for free!

It's just using that cover (which, as you can see above, doesn't show him dead or dying) and is an original story.

This is a great way to get comics in the hands of kids again.

Run to the Border. Then Run to your bathroom. But at least you have something to read while you are in there.
