View Full Version : Why hasn't Osborn made a move against Hulk?

It seems that Osborn has been paying attention to everyone BUT Hulk, and considering the general public would still have the memories of World War Hulk still fresh in their minds, wouldn't they want Osborn to reign him in considering he's out there roaming free and unchecked?
P.S. I'm trying to disregard anything that is related to Jeph Loeb's abortion of a title which has completely sodomised the character and brought in the ridiculous Red Hulk. Problem is, without Jeph Loeb's travesty of a story, Hulk would still be underground in his post-WWH prison.
Anyway, how do think Osborn will deal with the Hulk problem?

He'll send Ares to go and talk to the only relevant Hulk...Red Hulk.

Thats a good question.
His appearances seem too erratic to effectively deal with him but then again Norman doesn't have much else that can do anything to him on a permanent basis short of Sentry chucking him into the sun.

Well, the dude has enough on his plate with fighting Morgan le Fay, the New Avengers, the Mighty Avengers, Spider-Man, Deadpool, the Agents of Atlas, the X-Men, the Atlanteans, Frost Giants, Hercules & Co., the Olympus Group, the new She-Hulk, Thor, and whomever else I may have forgotten.
I'm sure he'll get to the Hulk eventually. Plus, the Hulk hasn't had a solo book in the past year. Once Incredible Hulk #600 is released, there will most likely be a Dark Reign tie-in sooner or later.

Osborn hasn't made a move against Hulk because none of the people currently writing Hulk or Osborn seem interested in telling that story.

Because right now the Hulk is trapped in 2 parallel universes. One is Pak's and the other is Loeb's, and anything that happens in those 2 universes, at least as of right now, doesn't effect the regular MU timeline.

Because Norman's not stupid.....?
The fact that he continually tries to get a guy who can rip steel with his bare hands angry enough to kill him seems to contradict this view point.

why hasnt osborn made his move against our favorite green goliath ? simple, he lacks the sheer power to actually stand a chance against the hulk.
the only person currently employed or controlled by norman capable of actually putting the hulk down is the sentry and to be honest he's too unstable after being killed by morgana le fey.
though i would love to see daken vs hulk (;

Who says he hasn't (yet)? He (eventually) may be in very low-key cohoots with Rulk.
Besides, we know that grown up, sophisticated men like Osborn don't follow cartoons.

from what i've seen, Rulk has got somewhat of an ego (punching the watcher and bashing thor just to name a few times he's shown that ego of his) and i therefore find it very hard to believe that he would "demote" himself to something alike an alliance..

If Rulk is anything like any of the other (smarter) Hulks, he'd be willing to demote himself and rape Osborn for something that would help further his purpose. Just because he kicks alotta butt with his fists and DBZ powers doesn't mean he won't use somebody else's firepower and or resources. Rulk is pretty smart... although he is one of the silliest characters ever created, starring no less in a book that is equally just as silly  .

rulk has shown both intellect and strategic competence however both are crippled by his ego and short temper - the latters got the best of him during Hulk #6 and he got his butt handed to him...

To put it as simply as possible, he doesn't have the balls, he knows Spiderman can kick his ass, Hulk is FAR stronger than Spidey, and that's when he's NOT pissed off. If you were Osborn, would you want to risk saying or doing something that would remind Hulk of his lost queen and child, and then have your limbs forcibly removed from your torso?

i would say he has learned from other peoples mistakes. A Hulk that is left alone is a Hulk that does the least amount of damage. Tony tried to get rid of him... that worked out so well. He sicced every hero on earth after him INCLUDING the Sentry... and they all got smashed. it is just better to leave him alone.

I'm a Hulk fan, but what does a book written by Loeb have to do with the Hulk I'm a fan of.

Osborn is mainly interested in keeping his power. Stopping Hulk from smashing some random town doesn't really affect that. Remember, the reason heroes come into conflict with Hulk is mainly because he is a threat to public safety. Since Osborn doesn't give a damn about public safety, he has no reason to attack Hulk.
Rurik

Hulk's no more a threat to public safety than any other hero, the only time he smashes a town, is when another big, often gamma powered, monster attacks first. And imagine how much more damage would be done to the town if Hulk didn't tear part of it up to stop the other monsters? Unlike Hulk, monsters like the Wendigo WILL kill people for no real reason at all. Hulk on the other hand only smashes those who piss him off. If Thor and all his buddies would learn to just leave Hulk alone, they'd suffer far less beatings at his big green hands.

Because there are only a few people who can hope to handle Hulk, and while Norman has Sentry, Normal pry knows not to send Sentry after the Hulk

This and what does Norman have to gain by tackling the Hulk, either Red or Green?
If said Hulk/Rulk started laying waste to New York, Norman would have no choice but to tackle them. As it stands, what's the point of going after the Hulk/Rulk?

He could gain the secrets of either transformation and then inject himself with it and become
THE RED IRON PATRIOT!!
of
THE SAVAGE IRON PATRIOT!!
See, i can write like Loeb too.
