Ummmmm... would somebody please tell the variant cover artist for Agents of Atlas that Saturday Night Fever came out in 1977?
I'm not sure how a movie poster image from the 70's constitutes being used within an 80's/90's themed cover event...

The AoA and Nova ones are an improvement compared to the other ones at least since I can actually tell that they're referencing Saturday Night Fever and Dirty Dancing.

It says 1970s Variant on the AoA cover. So I guess they're touching upon several decades.

How can you not tell what the others are referencing? The only one I have trouble with is the She-Hulk cover.

Maybe it's from the sequel to Saturday Night Fever. Sunday morning regrets.

I don't know if its because I don't remember their music videos with great detail or what but outside of the zombie one, the art on the War Machine, X-Men, and She-Hulk covers just didn't identify the material well enough for me.

Didn't spot that on the cover at first...good catch.
That said, they're still calling them all 80's and 90's variants... they better fix that soon before they give us an Elvis cover...

War Machine: The girls give it away in a heartbeat with the anarchy symbols on their shirts. I remember the video well, so...
X-Men: Its V(R)ogue!
Zombie cover: It's the Thriller dance, the way they lift their arms like that to the side.
Ah, well. Makes sense to me.

They are, in fact, calling them "Decade Variants." The CBR article is just spotlighting the 80s and 90s variants, which the Agents of Atlas issue is not.

Ahhhhhh..... I see now. When they first started showing these variants last week, I had gotten the impression they were only covering the 80's and 90's.
I gotta quit speed-reading these articles.

Isnt' Nova a Flashdance reference?
I like them.
Still don't get the She-Hulk one.

So that means Red Hulk issues now will have like 17 variants?
Isnt' Nova a Flashdance reference?
I like them.

best I can tell, is Tina Turner - from the "We Don't Need Antother Hero" video.
but that's just my guess.
Isnt' Nova a Flashdance reference?
Pretty sure it's "Dirty Dancing"
(if it were Flashdance, it absolutely would be the "chair w/ water" scene, as that's the iconic scene from that film).

As I said in the Squirrel Girl: Legitimacy thread, I really wish they would give us Doreen Green in a group Marvel Zombies cover like this.
Besides that, I want to give large gratitude for the Vogue Rogue cover. Madonna NEVER looked that good.

God.... I hope the Decade Variants arn't going to be super rare.
Has Marvel announced the ratio as of yet? I really need to get that Agents of Atlas one!

Good news! The Decade Variants are going to be 1:10. So they shouldn't be too expensive.

I was going to buy the X-Men Legacy Rogue cover but I'm not paying more than cover price.

The only one that really grabs me is Amazing Spidey # 599 with Nixon on the cover.

I think She-Hulk is a rave or clubs because it says DJ on it.

Who is the character with the silver body and red gloves on the Marvel Zombies 4 cover? Thanks.

i'd have to agree about the she hulk cover representing a rave...my nephew thought it looked like a gloria estafen album cover, but i havent been able to find it. if it had been revealed with these newer covers it may have made more sense as they seem to be more general representations of decades, with the she hulk cover showing the 90's rave culture, rather than being inspired by music videos...

That, to me, makes all the Zombie stuff worth it. I loved Crystar as a kid.
Seeing him as a zombie? Awesome (and a lot moreso than the Morbius zombie... vambie... whatever)
