But the Hulk books don't fall under the Avengers umbrella...yet. :evilsmile:Yeah, there was a bit of a near miss in Slott's Mighty Avengers with the Hulk possibly joining, but I think Dan Slott was just doing an homage to the early issues of the book where Hulk was briefly a member.

But he hasn't been a member in a really long time, and even then, it was for about three seconds. So Matt's right. Talk about him over at the Marvel Universe board.

Welcome back to moderating, Mike!There are some characters that will always be considered Avengers, particularly the founders. That's not true of the Hulk.

...He's a founder.:confused:But he's not a "Founder". That status, and any official membership, was rescinded long ago. He hasn't been an Avengers character since the early '60s.

And yet, Thor still gets put here.I have to agree with Bib on this one.

While Hulk and Thor were both founding Avengers, Hulk was only a member for two issues and made an appearance perhaps once every hundred issues or so for an anniversary issue. Otherwise, if he showed up, it was to get in a fight with the Avengers more often than not.

Thor's been an off-and-on member for nearly the entire run of the team. He's considered by most to be one of the most iconic team members and is as closely associated with the Avengers name as Captain America and Iron Man. He's been on more team rosters than most other characters. Certainly more than Hulk.

Hulk's my favorite comic book character, but he hasn't been an Avenger in over 40 years.
