I recently started reading War Of Kings because I picked up a flyer at my LCS.
I didnt really know it was kind 0f the middle to end of a story until I actually started reading it.
To get some more background on the characters & storyline I picked up Deadly Genesis, Rise & Fall of the Shiar Empire, Emperor Vulcan & Kingbreaker.
I really like the X-Men in space staories and this one is defintely worth reading now that I know more of it.
I'm not sure what to think of Vulcan yet.
He does have a hot temper at times but then again according to what was said in a past issue he is only about 13-15 years old chronologically.
I think I'll leave my final judgment of him until I see how this first major storyline of his turns out.

Anyways, War of Kings is really good even though I havent actually read any previous stories of the Inhumans.
I did read a bit of stuff online about them and after this I may just read some of the comics.

Anyone else have any thoughts about Vulcan in general or the above stroylines they'd like to share?

I personally did not like Vulcan and they way he was forced (retconned) onto us in the beginning. But, this whole War of Kings series (& tie ins) has been really good, and I think the Vulcan character fits well here... that is, until I remember his craptastic introduction and the continued bastardization of Prof X. Also, the fact the he killed Banshee didn't win him any points with me either.

Hopefully, with Gladiator, the Starjammers and the Inhumans out to take him out, someone will succeed.

Vulcan is alright for me. Ive only read the war of kings stuff so far, so I couldnt tell if the older stuff was better. But hes been portrayed as the insane, unstable megavillain. Theres not too much there that makes me really care about the character. Hes not a bad character, but he doesnt seem too interesting from the little Ive read. Alright, just not great.

He's great. I was getting pissed at him for a little while because I thought he was going to let D'Ken live. Then when he turned on D'Ken and fried him while calling him a mother killer I marked out big time. Taking his crown and keeping Deathbirds love was just the iceing on the cake.

He's my favorite summers brother.

Post-Uncanny/Brubaker, I have to admit Vulcan's evolved into a pretty good villian. Yet another "better than Cyclops" Summers to add to the list. <3 <3

I loathe everything about Vulcan, and not in a good way. I hope he dies soon so we won't have him around.

I'm enjoying WoK, except for the change to the Darkhawks.

I hope BB whispers his name, and not in a good way. But somehow I doubt it'll come to that. He'll likely get locked into the same prison he pulled his team from. Again.

Is BB strong enougth to bring Vulcan down it's Debatable the only way i see that happening is if he has one of his emo moments
