What would you do with Synch if he were brought back? [Archive]

Because I'm kind of puzzled myself. I love the character mind you, but with the nature of his powers in a post-M Day MU, I'd think he'd be somewhat limited. And what if he came back depowered? Would he be political advocate for mutants or we he try to assist the X-Men like Prodigy is doing?

What would you do with Synch if he were brought back?

I'd bring back Gen X as a whole. Repower Jubes somehow, maybe leave Jono with his New Warrior gear, get Paige and M, have Mondo finally join up FOR REAL as penance for his betrayal, and maybe have Gaia bring Skin back to life.
Synch would then lead the now adult version of Gen X.

I dont really see how Gen X would be adult....they are inbetween the New Xmen and New Mutants, Id probably bring Synch Out and somehow send him on a mission to get his old teammates back, then maybe....I dont know start a strike force or something

or at least that's the idea that popped into my head first, i don't care how it happens i would like Ev back....i'd like ALL of Generation X back & doing something for that matter.

Put him with X-Factor. He's intelligent and not an individual who is dependent on his powers. He was always an interesting character to me, regardless of his abilities. He'd have some great character interactions with the X-Factor cast, especially with as many broken/emotional individuals as the team has.

I like the character a lot but I think more would need to be done to distinguish his powers from other mimics like Rogue and, er, Mimic.

What if his death warped his powers and now Ev can only channel dead mutants? Finally the ridiculously high mutant body count they’ve been racking up in recent years can benefit someone. Plus it creates trust issues the second he inevitably fails to save someone (“I’m sorry. I just wasn’t fast enough” “Liar, you just wanted her powers!”)

Plus it’d be cool to see him using “lame” powers in creative ways as a kind of tribute to the fallen. Naturally I’m talking about Skin.

I don't see him as being a killer. He tries too hard to be a protector, then again, I could be wrong. Tactically he would be a good addition. Being able to pull from the baseline feral/healing abilities of the Claw Kill Krew. Then from the forgotten abilities of Warpath or whatever Superbad they run accross. He was also a good field leader. But the problem still comes back to, can he kill? And it's kinda a moot point, since they'll never bring my guy back.

That sounds like a great idea. His aura would act like an activator for the latent mutant gene. I'd like to see him start by activating his former teammates Jubilee and Chamber. Now all we have to do is see him resurrected somehow.

I mean with Mimic, it may be different for him than Synch
With the whole Mimic not really being a mutant and Synch being one

though anything is possible...

I'd imagine they sent his body back to St. Louis, to the Thomas family, rather than keep it on the grounds. He was the rare non-orphan among the X-Men.

My whole "walk over his grave" resurrection theory goes out the window, of course, if he was part of the Predator X buffet from "Messiah CompleX"

If Synch were to come back I think he would be a perfect fit as a reoccurring guest character in New Mutants. All of the new mutants/academy X-kids should show up..every now and then in that title.

lol, i was going to mention that he's from st louis but i figured i didn't need to. if st louis had rubbed off on him he would have bagged monet, jubes, and the ridiculous gaia before he died

seriously, he did nada and he lied to the cops, which means they were free to do it again to someone else. man up and deal with it yourself or tell the cops (which is part of his character).

now if he came back with a mean streak, or a non-pussified attitude due to being dead and forgotten, maybe on whatever book will eventually come out after the messiah fiasco aka bishop character assassination and timeline fuckery

Emplate digs up the body, and well...

That's how I would start a Gen X revival
if not that, a reason to bring back Emplate and Everett.

I'm sure there's some mutant signature after death, i'm assuming...

1. To get a healing factor so he can very die again.
2. Join an x-team/book (not drawn by land)
3. To start dating Jubilee or Monet.
4. To go find David Evan Munroe j.r. & activate his X-gene so he can finally become Spyke :biggrin:
5. To stay FAR a way from Ellis, Fraction & few other writers pens/pencils.
6. Go see his family & hang out with all his old GEN X teammates.
&. When he come back hopefully hell bring Banshee with him or vice-versa :biggrin:

Synch was one of my favorite X-characters (and Nate Grey).

I would love to see both brought back. Let him join X-force, under Yost and Kyle's pen. He would be a lot darker (personality wise because of that experience).

I think they (C & C) are the only (besides PAD) that could handle it.
