Some time back (I'm not going to even attempt the search function here), there was a thread about Slurpee Cup artist i.d., and source of the illustrations used. In particular, King Kull.
Was this ever solved?

I can't remember.
I do know that we were able to ID all the artists on the 37 Slurpee Romance cups set.

Yes, Roquefort Raider found the image in Savage Sword of Conan #1. I later found out it came from the Kull Portfolio and was done by John Severin. Here is the page from the Portfolio and the cup.

Well since this topic came up again I still have no idea of the artists or origin of the 1977 Iron Fist or Black Panther cups. Here are the cups just in case anybody has any ideas.

The current issue of BACK ISSUE (that sounds weird) has a list of the cups, and their artists. Of course they don't have info on the two you're seeking.

Which issue number is that CJ? I'd like to pick that up and see what they say about it.

Hey MetaRog, I have the issue right in front of me. It is the latest (#34) and features Starlin's Warlock on the cover.
The article (4 pgs) is entitled, "The Art of Marvel Slurpee Cups" by Lex Carson. It includes an index with the original sources for the art
Of course this paragraph also appears:
"Identifying the art and artists for the Slurpee cups has been and continues to be difficult.... There are still a few that have not been identified, and I hope some of the readers of this article can help. In particular, the 1977 cup images of the Black Widow, Iron Fist and the Black Panther have been extremely puzzling. If you know who did this work, please let us know."
There ya go. Tell you something ya don't know! You got the 1977 Widow source right? (I remember that search here at CBR. Was it Amazing Adventures?). You should let Back Issue know!

Well, a little bit OT, but I want to hype Jim Mahfood, who designed a nationwide Colt 45 campaign!

benday-dot gave you most of the info. I'll just add that the article is written by Lex Carson.
