So it doesn't sound like they're back for good (but y'never know). But giving them a renewed lease on life for a bit doesn't sound too bad either.

Plus, maybe it'll earn a few of these folks some respect.

Can't say I'm too excited about where this comic is headed but this being Remeder and all, I'll give an issue or two. And Huats art is good, but its definitely a step down from Opena.

I wonder if any of the villains will go after the other heroes and villains as well as Frank.

Because if they have 30 days to kill or bring in Frank Castle, then they would at least try to wack the hero or villain that scorn me in the past, right ? :frown:

Yeah, unless some get on Hood's good side of course.

But if the deal is to take out Punisher in 30 days. It doesn't seem like they're back for good.

That would be unwise. Their first priority is to take out Punisher to remain alive. If they waist the time going after other heroes they're as good as dead.

They probably want to make sure they live past 30 days before going after old grudges.

Ugh...I know that this is superhero comics but having all these villians "job" for the Punisher is just silly.

Well they haven't "jobbed" for him yet, so don't jump to conclusions. Plus, they've already done that for the Scourge of the Underworld, so it's hardly a big deal.

It's a big deal when the "Job Squad" are getting upgrades (which most of them won't need if you take into account the heroes they tangled with while alive, Heck, Cyclone should be able to take on Frank without a boost) and won't be too drunk (sigh  ) to do anything. The Scourge stuff didn't pass the smell test the first time around and is known as one of, if not the biggest case of jobbing in Marvel Comics history.

And what is with the "Ultimate Street Soldier" bit? What does that even mean? It reminds me of the 90's when the letter X was being slapped on everything. The word "street"is now the new X.

I really hope the Fly survives, to take on Spider-Man again...

The important thing here is that people have complained about the Hood not being worthy to sit on the villain illuminati because all he does is teleport and shoot guns. Now as you can see the man has an entire dead guy rogues gallery that he can pick from if you mess with him. This certainly brings him on par with the other fiends sitting at the table.

I still say the Hood is a loser. Before trying to make him seem powerful, Marvel should change his ridiculous costume or better yet just end the farce and put him down easy.

Maybe the Hood will take a liking to some of them (Letha, for example) and keep some of them alive anyway.

Actually it makes him look worse, he is doing all this to fight the Punisher a foe the rest of the Illuminati members could swat like a fly. If you look at the all the things the Hood brings to the table it really makes no sense that he is struggling with the Punisher whose only real power is a cool skull shirt.

Jeez, I really have to disagree with that statement. As someone who was reading those books at the time, I found it to be a fascinating concept that somebody was going around the place knocking off a bunch of B-grade bad guys. And that's what made it entirely plausible in the first place - the vast majority of them were B-listers and easily guys that someone with a big gun could hunt down at his leisure.

I'd kill to see a good Scourge storyline in the Marvel books these days. Preferably one that involved killing off most of Bendis' pet characters...
