This is a guy who'd fit right in around here...except he's handsome, successful, and bangs really hot chicks:biggrin: .

Best line: He's like Jason Bourne meets Phantom of the Opera by way of Caddyshack

That was a great interview. Reynolds is the man - confirming there's going to be scarring, going to be a costume, going to be fourth-wall breaking, and confirming that it'll have nothing to do with X-MEN ORIGINS: WOLVERINE. I hope he's not being too positive though but even the studio seems to be with him at this point.

There's so much to do with a movie like this, so much you can do, and I'm just trying to figure out a way to structure all of those things around kicking Captain America in the nuts.

I want Joe Kelly and Fabian Nicieza as writers, with Joe Carnahan directing and RR producing.

No, I want someone with actual film experience. Comics and movies are two entirely different animals.
Reynolds has said that the movie won't address or even mention the Wolverine film, so I wonder if they plan on completely disregarding the other X-films as well. At least that way, they wouldn't be tied down by the screwy character timelines, and Cable and Siryn could still show up.

He most certainly is! He made me care a lil bit more about Deadpool!

Please say he doesn't have all those stupid powers. And get rid of the effing swords in the arms, please.

Cuz I will husk-f*@k a herd of cattle to bring Wade Wilson to life as the real deal.

Now that's the kind of commitment I like to see in an actor.

I'm cautiously optimistic. Cause we've been here before over the years, with everything look great only for the film to turn out rubbish. But if Reynold's is half as into the character as he seems and if they can transfer that to the screen fourth wall breaking and all it should be good

I would prefer they acknowledge the other X-films and just have his body reject all of those other powers and implants. "Wade joined Weapon-X because he had cancer, they promised him a cure, he ended-up being a failed experiment, all of the implants (especially the controlling implants) are rejected and mess-up his body and scar his psyche, he wears the red suit, and he's nuts."

The fourth wall breaking is the only thing that kind of worries me.

How do you manage to break the fourth wall without turning into a Space-balls or Leslie Nielsen movie.

Don't get me wrong I like these movies but I expect Deadpool to be an action movie with dark humor, not a crazy Mel Brooks Men in tights movie.

But Deadpool IS a crazy character. He's a nut case who knows he's a comic book character and takes nothing seriously. I agree that dark humour is the way to go with the character but I don't want to see a serious action film starring the "Merc with a mouth". He's a funny character, the film should have plenty of comedy too though I think it should be more "Franky Boyle" than "Mel Brooks".

They could do exactly what they do in the comics. HE breaks the fourth wall, but no one else knows what the hell he's talking about. And what's wrong with Mel Brooks?

Nothing wrong with Mel Brooks darling. But Deadpool's style of humour would need to be darker. More dead baby style comedy (If you're not familiar with the term check TV tropes for a quick definition) given that he's a mass murdering sociopath with media awareness and a horrifically scarred face

But Wade makes dead baby jokes in the funny sense not the dead baby morbid sense. I think the mass murdering part will be toned down in film. In the more current times since like '99 Wade's been trying to straighten out but just cant.

Not entirely true, both at least have experience in writing cartoons. Plus the scripting process of comic book and film are not that different. Heck a comic book is practically a storyboard of a film. Plus would you say that the average movie is better written that then the average comic book?

Well, he doesn't think it would involve the other films, but he's just the actor, not the studio, producer, writer, or director. It's far too early to really know much on direction.

I have seen another interview bit where he'd like Cable to show up, but an exec has said Cable's unlikely, and Black Tom is a likely villain (which means Siryn is also likely)

Hmm... But I wonder how they would explain away the Lil' Siryn from X-2. Maybe just have Terry say something about having a little cousin at the Xavier school or something.

Well i'm relieved to see he is an actual fan of the character and acknowledges they didn't get him right in the Wolverine movie.

Aside from Deadpool's insanity, it'd be cool if the action was tight but sort of tongue-in-cheek as well, like in Shoot 'Em Up.

Crazy, I was just thinking that they should get whoever did the action scenes in Shoot Em Up to do them in Deadpool!

If Reynolds is as serious as he claims I may have to check this out, I stress, only may check it out.
Ideally, Deadpool would be written by Shane Black and made by any studio except FOX...
