Was it supposed to be funny and/or lighthearted?

Why would Jean need to recuperate ? It was Lorna who took the brunt of Havok and Storm's combined powers to cast Krakoa into space.
Or does this version differ from the original ?

lorna's key contribution in the krakoa event has been replaced with jean grey. lorna is no longer important in that regard.

Don't blame the writers for showing us how true irish people talk, Andy. You should be proud of your country.

Now pass me some of those p'taetas.

Susnpot was speaking the totally wrong language in New Mutants. Isn't this just a case of Sean's accent being off?

Writing in dialect is always tough, but its kind of become an X-Men tradition. Sort of a way to remind the reader that all the characters have different accents and backgrounds. It doesn't always translate well, though. I remember being confused when reading issues of Generation X when Chamber would call Paige "gel". It was supposed to be an English pronunciation of "girl", but I always ended up reading it as "jel".

I thought it was a fun preview, though. I liked how all the new X-Men seemed so much more tough to deal with than the old batch. Plus, for some reason I love the idea of Colossus plowing up part of the Xavier estate to grow crops. Considering how much land that mansion sits on, he could probably get away with growing crops on some of it.

Was there not vines and tentacles involved on Krakoa. Jean is probably just tired out.

Hmm, does sound like something someone in my local vicinity would say. Though they are mostly inbreds, but it works on that level. Banshee is just a bit inbred, that's all.

I love all the global stereotypes present in this preview.

If only Storm were doing tongue-clicks, it would be sterotypically complete.

I'll be passing then, thank you very much. Look, I'm a huge Jean Grey fan, but this is just sacrilege in my book. Now, we'll have a bunch of snot-nosed kids thinking this is what really happened.

Ridiculous!

I was looking forward to this series. If the preview was from the main creative team it has somewhat dampened my enthusiasm, but I'll still check out the first couple of issues. At least they were all interacting, but it was pretty dull interaction.

Begorrah - someone will feel the wrath of my shillelagh over this! Sean's from Mayo, right? No one from Mayo (or the World) pronounces 'Potatoes' like that... c'mon, P'taetas sounds like something R'chell would want to have sex with.

When you say it out loud (i.e., "Pit-tay-tahs"), it doesn't sound so bad. I've read worse. Hell, I've heard worse.

Yeah, i grew up in Mayo, just down the road from Cassidy Keep, the only time i ever heard someone say P'TAETA was when they were taking the piss.

LOL what a douche.

I had hopes for this book, but this preview lost me.

The movieverse Cerebro room? I hated it when that started showing up in present continuity--I hate it twice here.

And Peter is from a farm, not from the Middle Ages. That was annoying instead of funny.

Of course, I'll still have to look if Illyana shows up in that Colossus in Siberia flashback tale, but I'm not crazy about this.

how is it annoying?

It feels like it's trying very hard to be funny--and maybe some people laughed, but I just thought it was lame and portayed Colossus like an idiot in the course of being lame.

I dunno, he was not just from a farm, he was from a soviet collective, it does not seem that unacurate...

Yeah I think in Gen X they mentioned he was from Achill. But yeah it's annoying he should read Sean O' Casey's work...if he wants to do that.
