Ugh. I wish they'd stop referring to the British Bod as "Kwannon's".
Well, Kwannon is the one who died in it. I'm pretty sure that means that, in addition to totally not getting her security deposit back, she gets to claim it as her own.
Why would Betsy want it back at that point? I mean, I don't even want to sleep in a bed someone else died in.

I want to know if she's still steadily decomposing to be honest. Rigor Mortis would explain her complete lack of real fighting ability
Betsy would jump into any bed.

At least it looks like there is action, but who is in betsys body? Betsy? And if kwannon is in the other body then why is she in bondage? kwannon was the bad one not betsy.
Betsy is in her original British body right now. The Asian body is an empty husk at the moment (which is kind of nice because with her head in that machine, you can't see Land butcher her face).

I've been brooding on Ali's exciting scene & I think she's going to fire a light pulse THROUGH Emma's diamond body, thereby causing a lovely mirrorball effect on the walls & the ceiling.
Everyone will go "ooooh pretty", Northstar will whip his clothes off (to his thong) slap on some tunes & start dancing on the conveniently located bar.
Everyone will have a lovely dance & numbers will be exchanged.
Japan Bets will continue to drool.
Chimera will still do absolutely nothing (is she the must useless villain in X history? She takes out Storm & then leaves her to sleep whilst she goes off to bitch slap some teenager girls????)

Oooh I like this, though Pixie would have to be brutally killed by a combined Sisterhood/X-Men assault, that would really get the party started.
Ororo would drunkenly look for her legs (as Land doesn't seem to always draw them.)
Karma could collect plates & re-fill glasses (the laundry room is shut for the night.)
The cuckoo's would photocopy their butt's, as Land as photocopied the rest of them.
Good times by all (except Chimera who still isn't doing anything.)

Well you could put some lovely fairy lights all over Japan Bets, that would be pretty or she could act as a hat/cape/thong stand, though you would probably have to do something about the drool problem.
Brit Bets is banned from the party & has been told to have lessons in using her psychic knife as she keeps missing people with it.
Sprial would probably be taken to the local ER by a concerned Lady Deathstrike, to look into her Land related anatomical disfigurement (ie. her shoulder blades are not where they should be........on her shoulders.)

This is what bothers me about people trying to nail Greg Land or any other artists for legimately using photo reference.
Clearly, you don't draw or know how to draw a scene with mood convincingly. You have use shading to give some depth to the plane and if you're not sure where it supposed to "land" properly, use photo reference. I don't think people will care if you have to use photos for airplanes, cars, and buildings.
But we do care when he uses the same faces for different characters or the exact same pose over and over again.
You're really reaching with the plane.
That's not a legitimate use of photo reference, that's being incredibly lazy.

i find it disheartening that you would blame our poor pornstars like sasha grey, obsession, and belladonna for lands 'reference'. these ladies don't pose in such cheap ways (except for that crackhead jenna jameson) they don't try so hard to exude sex, because they're performing it.
it's obviously skanks like pam anderson and trollops like megan fox and other maxim/fhm/gq 'models' that are being referenced.

ot: not for nothing, but isn't the coloring a large part of the problem?
besides some weird perspective and stuff and the expressions, the coloring brings to life the obvious references used, even if you can't put a name to them it's like you know who it is. it's distracting and with the writing...i haven't been able to get past #500.

The colorist for Land is actually not that bad, but I am trying to not associate him with the horror that Land is. I used to ALMOST defend Land, too, saying that yeah he traced a lot, but it seemed he was drawing a lot more noticeably. No, turns out, he got maybe a dozen new images and put them in with all of his older ones. There is just no point at all looking at his work anymore. It was funny the first two issues of him, because I had never seen these poses of his in the X-Men yet, but now its getting old and I am not into it at all. I want him outtttt.
I was re-reading the Pixies and Demons Directors Cut and I found it funny that when Pixie was flying in one panel, he re-used the same flight pose for Surge on the cover to UXM 500. Funny, can Surge even fly? Hmm. He used a lot of poses over again on that cover, which were re-traced during Sisterhood (I noticed Colossus and Nightcrawler mostly). Its getting SO old.
Lets think of artists that could fill in for Land entirely, but remain somewhat consistent with Dodson. I LOVE Dodson on UXM, and if he stays, we sadly can't have someone like Bachalo or Young. Too inconsistent.
My votes are for Silvestri, Cuamancoli, Neves, Choi, or Lopresti. Lopresti and Dodson are VERY similar, most noticeably during their Gen X days. Dodson's features a bit more circular and curvy, whereas Lopresti's are a little more rectangular and thin, but their line thickness and storytelling are both very similar. Maybe they had the same inkers a lot, I'm not sure.
How dare you, LuckyStar is the definition of awesomeness!

When Wolvy punched/pushed her away she had the blue glow of Spirals teleport on her. I think the sound effect was on the panel as well so she escaped with the others.
I love that the SOUND EFFECT was on-panel, yet like so many other things in that issue, the actual teleportation was OFF-panel.

It happened off-panel, darling. This scene will soon be compiled into "Forever Fraction," a satellite title showing everything that transpired off-panel.

I want Chris Bachalo or Olivier Coipel on this title, no excuses.
They both made Claremont's run bearable and made it worth the cover price.
This Ron Lim guy isn't bad, though. Kinda like him and the name sounds familiar.
This is so true!
Coipel's two issues on Uncanny were so much fun, and the Claremont dialogue read well thanks to the artwork.
I'd love Bachalo on Uncanny, too, but I'd prefer to see him with Mike Carey again on Legacy. That would have made Legacy much more readable after Messiah Complex! Scot Eaton was a poor choice.
I like the idea of Uncanny having these spectacular, grand artists like Land and Dodson. I do think Mitch Breitweiser of the Uncanny annual would do fantastic on the book, and even Daniel Acuna would fit into the Land/Dodson rotation pretty well.
Dodson's artwork looks even better than it was just a few issues ago, which is fun on these covers that he's doing. I'm thinking he has a new inker (does his wife normally ink?) on those Dark X-Men covers, or he's using tighter pencils, because it really looks great.

Novaya was joking  . It was a shot at Land's artistry (all of his women look the same) and the lack of on-panel action; thus, we actually have to discuss what transpired on a forum to fill in the gaps. Hopefully this next issue won't be so vague, but I have the feeling what we will see will be even more LOLzy than what we saw in 510.

The preview is wonderful. Didn't Fraction and Lowe say there was going to be a resurrection of an old favorite in this arc? Can't be British Betsy because one, nobody was actually brought back from the dead. Second, if you read the dialogue closely, the Sisterhood never refer to the body swap as a resurrection, just things such as "filling a dead girl with a live one and reanimation. Lastly Fraction stated he wanted to put more characters in Uncanny, and seeing as how Psylocke appears Asian on future covers, the British Betsy thing wouldn't last (Betsy becoming Asian would be a much likelier outcome than British Betsy ditching one of her trademark looks to steal the Asian costume from her old body and dying her hair). The resurrection can't be Maddie either since it has been confirmed in several interviews and in this preview the Red Queen is not her.

Dazzler will be POKEMON in this issue, I'm sure of it.
After the unprecedented success of the SISTERHOOD STRIKE (the text is in purple because this is Psylocke's trumphant return, after all), the X-Women will be disoriented and scattered. Emma, being the amazing field leader she is, will order Dazzler to distract their foes at which point Alison will get her very own dialogue-less splash page of FULL DIVASPARKLY BLINDING BRILLIANCE.
On the next page without explanation, Dazzler, Storm and Karma will be unconcious (rendered as such off-panel, of course) leaving body-builder Emma and Pixie (wait, where did she come from???) to save the day. Pixie will then stab Psylocke in the forehead with her Soul Sword and declare "THIS is how you use a knife, you sodding cow!" thus freeing her from mind control (but rendering her unconscious, of course). Emma will rant about the Mastermind sisters' low class tops a bit before shirtless Cyclops and Wolverine show up and flex their pecs whilst arguing about Jean. Their sullen/angry gazes will be copied/pasted/enlarged/cropped into various panels over the next several pages before the aspiring Star Trek transporter Spiral teleports onto the battle scene with the new Red Queen/Jean in tow. The Red Queen will say something inane like "the Phoenix has risen again, WORM!" and the last panel will consist Cyclops, Wolverine, Pixie and Emma (or is it a Cuckoo? Dazzler? Lady Mastermind?) battle-posing on one side with the Red Queen on the other, o-faces abounding.
EPIC.
This is amazing, I don't know if I said that yet.

The resurrection, if any, will probably be akin to Sophie Cuckoo's; short and comedic (although in 511, most likely uncomedic).

Just got done reading 510, and I am so done with Fraction's Uncanny. One more issue to conclude this arch and no more. I don't care about the upcoming crossover.
I find Fraction's Uncanny to be very poor, definitely not worth the expensive tag.
Land's art was merely ok with me until the last few issues where every female character looks the same - hair color is the only distinction. So X-23 and Hisako are totally identical when the claws or the armor isn't up. Bad.

I highly doubt British Betsy will become "asian" again. That would be as much of an FU to Psylocke fans as Jean's "return" to jeans fans.
Plus fraction has said he loves british betsy, though she has yet to use any telepathy. I also think Madelyne will come back as jean (either undercover or whatever). If Jean wanted to come back she could already do so so why the wait? I have no faith in marvel dealing with Jean at this time.

Fraction always said that Maddie is dead for a long time. Now even Cyclops himself, who was the first one who identified the Red Queen as Maddie, now states that Maddie is not her.
"Maddie's a ghost. No--she's not Maddie. She's the Red Queen. She's a psychic ghost or something."
Don't just assume this is not Jean Grey coming back just because they teased Jean fans before with Mutant Zero and Hope. When Psylocke was killed off years ago, Marvel always teased her return despite the fact that Joe Q made Claremont keep her dead. Look what happened.

There's one final thing that I HAVE to mention here just because it is too bizarre not to. In one scene, Cyclops is trying to stop Madelyne Prior, and he blasts her. Now, the blast goes through her because she's basically a ghost, but the bizarre part is WHERE he shoots her. Now bear in mind that he's supposed to be a marksman with his optic blasts, and where he shoots her is... well, let's just say it's between the thighs and the stomach. Alright, I'll just say it: Cyclops shoots her in the crotch! Why?! Why would Land have him do that? And it's not only Land's fault. An inker, a colorist, and then at least one editor ALL had to have okayed a scene where Cyclops tries to shoot a lady in the crotch! I'm baffled that such a panel actually got published.

It writes itself, doesn't it? Oh Scott...you're just all kinds of crazy aren't you?

Reading those reviews, it doesn't sound like this issue has anything to do with Jean Grey.
That makes this crappy art, mediocre writing and stupid story arc completely pointless.
Seriously, the "ghost" is solid enough to pick up a box but it needs a body? WTF?
I hate the X-Men right now.

It's another Arnie quote, from Batman and Robin. He spent the entire film making awful ice puns. And I spelt it that way to capture his um...unusual accent
