Oddball Super-Pet Plugola: DC SUPER FRIENDS No. 14!

It just occurred to me that I never mentioned this Oddball project, which was published last month, and is probably of interest to Silver Age DC comics:

I did the layouts, Mike Kazaleh and Jim MacQuarrie finished the pencils (while I was in the hospital) and Terry Beatty inked Sholly Fisch's carpal-tunnel-destroying script, "Man's Best Superfriend" in DC SUPERFRIENDS No. 14. It features Superman, Batman, Flash, Wonder Woman, Green Lantern, Aquaman, Krypto, Ace the Bat-Hound, Streaky, Beppo the Super-Monkey, Topo the octopus, Jumpa ("Wonder Woman's favorite kanga"), Ch'p (the chipmunk-oid Green Lantern), all six Super-Friends transformed into apes and monkeys, Beppo transformed into a human, ten thousand giant ants, the general assembly of the United Nations...and three puzzle pages. (The comic was edited by Rachel Gluckstern.)

(No WONDER I was hospitalized!)

I forgot to mention that this issue of DC SUPER FRIENDS also features a new, modern incarnation of the Golden Age funny-animal turtle superhero, the Terrific Whatsit!

(Sure wish that we'd been shown that cover before we turned in the artwork; I would've incorporated that design for Jumpa's Amazonian helmet, which is certainly a nice touch.)
