just wondering who you think the casualty will be and if you think there will be one at all?
I don't see any indication that any of them will die.
Though, if one did, I'd have to say the most likely candidate would be John.

I fear that Guy will die early on. And then become one of the Black Lanterns.....

There's fairly strong evidence that Guy won't die early on: Johns specificially mentioned in Booster Gold 2 that Guy would play an important part in Blackest Night, and that role would have made him the greatest Lantern given that set of changes to the timeline.
Now Alan Scott actually seems to have a decent chance of dying (see the Omens and Origins page where the Guardians have him on trial.)

I'm calling Alan Scott a goner (just like I think Jay'll end up dead by the end of Flash Rebirth). It's getting a little difficult to by heroes active during WWII as still being active and young (despite magical energies and what not). I think all the WWII heroes are going to be off the playing field in the next few years.

Nah, they'll just stop mentioning that they were all active in WWII. When was the last time Marvel mentioned that Nick Fury fought in WWII alongside Ben Grimm and Reed Richards?
As for the GLs, John is really the only one who seems expendable to me. Hal is Hal. And Kyle and Guy headline Corps. John, I don't even know if he's even in the JLA anymore.

I think the World War II/1940s era angle is much more integral to the characters of Jay Garrick and Alan Scott than to any of those Marvel characters. Nick Fury has a Golden Age background, but it wouldn't affect him or the other Howling Commandos *too* much if they were bumped up to Korea or Vietnam era heroes. For the two FF members, it's not even relevant.
But if you take the Golden Age angle out of Jay and Alan, you lose a great deal of what makes those characters what they are.

I don't think any of the four earth based GLs will die.All of them have different roles to play so I can't see any of them dying. Alan Scott might end up kicking the bucket though.
But if you take the Golden Age angle out of Jay and Alan, you lose a great deal of what makes those characters what they are.
In particular, you can't move them up too far, because the disbanding of the JSA as a response to McCarthyism fixes a lot of their early history. For example, you can't set the Golden Age JSA adventures in Vietnam, since that comes after their disbanding. Even the Korean War is pushing it.

And Korea or any other conflict just wouldn't feel right. Jay and Alan have a very 1940's aesthetic that would be ruined if you tried to place them later in the timeline.
I've got to say though, I'd rather see Alan become a larger part of the Corps mythos rather than dying. It always bothers me how they try to keep the original Green Lantern at arm's length from the GL franchise.

Guy is a potential runner up.

I think all four will live. I do agree Sinestro might make the ultimate sacrifice. It would put his attempt at establishing some sort of legacy through his daughter in another context.
But if I were a writer at DC, and I had to kill an earth Lantern, I'd take the one from the cartoon that the higher ups are alway pushing on me.

I got bad news: the image of the titles for the final issues of Blackest Night have been leaked months ago, and it's been revealed who dies, so quite guessing and just play online detective.

Not much of a case. It's just got to be the one the was in JLI. Who is also the least popular, and the one that's never been on any succesful television show.

You mean those leaks from April 1st?

LOL - yeah. I assumed everyone knew that was a joke.
That being said, in today's Solomon Grundy #4, Grundy destroys Alan's lantern and his ring blinks out of service. I'm not sure that means he'll die, but it could be he's no longer a "Green Lantern" after all this is over ....

Hopefully none. Although as Hal's survival is the only one I'd really want.

About Scott? Guess so.
They have been pretty accurate about Blackest Night: Batman, Blackest Night: Superman, Blackest Night: Titans, so I will continue to believe them.

No they said that the Superman, Batman and Titans were real and the rest were fake. The other tie-ins are Wonder Woman and either Flash, JLA or JSA, I forget which

Those alleged "spoilers" were pretty specific from what I remember. How would we know if they're accurate until those issues actually come out ?

I take any solicits released on April Fool's Day with a grain of salt.
That being said, in today's Solomon Grundy #4, Grundy spoilers:

end of spoilers. I'm not sure that means he'll die, but it could be spoilers:

end of spoilersafter all this is over ....
Which makes no sense considering when he took the Starheart back into himself and fashioned a ring out of it back in Princes of Darkness, he still had the energy inside of him and never used a lantern again on-panel and hadn't since I believe Zero Hour.

i really hope its not Kyle. I don't see any reason why they would kill him off. He's definitely more popular that Guy and John. I hope they all survive

I thought that was when he did start using the ring again; or when he switched his name from Sentinel back to Green Lantern ?

I think it will be Kyle - not that I wish him any ill - just a gut feeling

...This happened long enough ago that spoilers are unnecessary.

What about question two: Which Earth Green Lantern will join another Lantern Corp?
Hal as a Blue Lantern?
Kyle as a Violet Lantern, in a tiny speedo?
Guy as a Red Lantern?
Thoughts?

Isn't Sodam Yat prophecied to die in the Blackest Nights?
Yes, he was.
Mogo is, IIRC, the last GL to survive according to the prophecy.

Of course, thanks to LEgion Of Three Worlds, we already know how that one turns out.
They should keep 21st century characters out of the Legion era.
The thing about the future is that it's always changing. What we see in things like LoSH, Kingdom Come, Dark Knight Returns, etc ... isn't necessarily what the DCU is going to be like.

I smell survival.
No one has to die to make this an effective story. Just raise the stakes and show us some great cosmic action and fun hero moments!

Why do so many people think its going to be Kyle?
