Small rant coming.....

I enjoy cosmic story arcs and big events and I've started to get in DC as much as Marvel now-a-days. But while I enjoyed Infinite Crisis and WWIII, I feel that the current run where there seems to be a new Mega Crisis every second month is getting annoying and mildly frustrating. You can destroy realities a certain number of times before it gets ho-hum .... been there, done that....

Rant over....

The only sure-fire way to get rid of them is for people to stop buying them.

Hard for that to happen when you have so many people that buy out of habit.

Only problem with not reading them is that I then miss out on whatever retcon has happened or which characters have died. Marvel did "ubber crisis" as well but usually once the heroes won it was back to status quo. Or the events don't effect most Earth based titles. DC on the other hand reshuffles some of the most important characters around. I'm about a year or so behind (wait for collected editions) so I just finished reading Countdown to Final Crisis. Bart Allen is dead, New God and Darkseid are dead (though I know they come back in human form later), bunch of Monitors are running around and multi-verses are back for now.

On a related note. What exactly made Dona Troy, Jason Todd and Klye Rayner so special? They can't be the only reality displaced guys around can they? Were the others killed before Bob could get to them?

Try not to look for logic in Countdown, it's not there. (Also, it doesn't - and this is hilarious - actually tie-in to Final Crisis; Morrison completely disowned it a couple weeks before FC#1 shipped).

Your logic intrigues me and I wish to subscribe to your newsletter.

However, if your newsletter contains the word "CRISIS" on its title then I will apparently have to pass. I'm sure you'll understand.

once in a while they're fun (like once a decade) but this and the money spinners having multiple titles is getting mighty tedious. I've stopped buying them completely. Marvel and DC can shove their corporate grab for my hard earned money and start developing new titles and going back to basics on established ones.
