Cornells last answer was "Beyond that, I can't reveal". I really hope that means Marvel has something lined up for him X-Verse wise.

Is Big Zero just a bigot? Or is she a white supremacist?

Is there a difference?

Yup. There's a pretty big difference.

The best part of that interview was the annoucement of Kyle and Yost's interview next week.

Cornell deserves full respect. And frankly, Yost/Kyle are doing themselves no favors with this Messiah War bollocks.

Waste of an X-Position.

I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE Paul Cornell, but his answering vague questions about a series that ends in two months? No thank you.

And the awfully vague hint at his future at Marvel? *eyeroll*

Announce that he's getting an X-Men title or not. But don't tease me like you're a "straight" guy at the gym.

Boo.

Oh. I quite agree on both counts...but you have to admit, AT...nothing new or particularly engrossing (as per CB) was even hinted at in the expo...and surely (hopefully?) K+Y's interview next week, will focus on wot happens after that MW crap (for wont of a worse word) is over and done with and we finally get back to important characters like Selene and Leper Queen.

Somehow, I think editorial would be most displeased if he took it upon himself to announce something like that.

If he did get an X-book, it means that someone's getting bumped off.

And let's be fair, all of these x-positions are usually the same old claptrap filtered through editorial anyway. I'm just happy that the man is still getting work.

If it does come to pass and he gets an X-book...I hope it's AXM (sans Bianchi)...(we all know it would never be Uncanny, that is just wishful thinking)

Mike Carey and Cornell should rotate as writers on Uncanny. I think they'd play well off eachother as long as it wasn't Rogue and the Uncanny XMen.

Wishfull thinking...even if we say it three times and turn around anti-clockwise while whistling the Laverne and Shirley theme song, it. will. never. happen. Sadly, UXM is consigned to the dung-heap that is its curent creative team for the next couple of years, at the very least.

Carey, Cornell, Fraction, and C&C should rotate with Stuart Immomen, Terry Dodson, McNiven, and Olivier Coipel in the same manner as the "Amazing Spiderman" braintrust.

3x a month.

It would be AMAZING.

Ugh. Get STEVE WACKER on X-Men. Now.

Does anyone know when Fraction will finishe his master saga in uncanny?

Seriously I can't wait until Mike Carey takes over Uncanny and Cornell can be given Legacy. Or if it to long of a wait until that can happen, maybe Cornell can have a Dark X-Men ongoing. We need more team x-books.

So does Marvel only go by Diamond's numbers? If it was selling well enough in the UK and sold at least 20k here in the states, then why'd they let it go? I wonder if they raised the price a dollar if sells would decline further or if it would've helped it?

*sighs*

i am a bit down. i loved Captain Britain and the MI13.

i sincerely wish that more readers would branch out beyond their comfort zones.

Regardless...i am so glad this comic happened.

i say we give Paul Cornell the flagship X-Title. He'd rock on Uncanny. Even more...he'd probably do that rotating cast concept a bit of justice. He juggles many characters at once quite well.

The Tangerine Defense Force shouldn't give up hope yet, she'll undoubtedly replace Armour when Cornell gets Astonishing next year...

I'm going to miss MI13 very, very much. It was a title I looked forward to every month, and I'm going to need a Pete Wisdom fix shortly after it is over.

I wish Marvel had given this book some more time because of its superior quality. I'm happy I gave it a read when it first came out and got hooked, despite my previous aversion to all things Captain Britain.

Not really, though, is there? The pure definition of White Supremacy is bigoted concept.

It would be far more interesting than what we have had in the last year, that's for sure.

OMG Tangerine!! ♥♥♥♥

Yes. And we genuinely would have gotten her had cancellation not been so prematurely brought down. That is a very genuinely saddening thing.

I actually liked the X position.....Paul's series seems pretty cool, i might have to pick up the trades

Definitely do. The second trade comes out next week. You won't be disappointed. One of the most consistently good books Marvel has put out in the last 3 years.

Sonuva! We missed a chance to get 616 Tangerine because not enough people gave this book a chance?

You and me both. This book is brought to an end, while eXiles gets another mediocre relaunch, and Runaways is kept alive despite consistent sales lower than this title for a far longer period of time. No justice at all. I can only assume Marvel have done this so they can put PC on something higher profile.

So does Marvel only go by Diamond's numbers? If it was selling well enough in the UK and sold at least 20k here in the states, then why'd they let it go? I wonder if they raised the price a dollar if sells would decline further or if it would've helped it?

UK numbers were good. The Panini Trade of the first 4 issues had to be reprinted through sell out. For some reason Marvel created a book for a more European audience, and then flatly ignored European sales. I really don't know what they are doing right now. The number of ongoing Marvel Universe books culled in the last 4 years is alarming. By 2011 there will be no MU titles left to tie-into for these 'Blockbuster' events that aren't Avengers, Spidey or X-Men branded. That is a really dumb long term move.

He wanted to use Dark Angel. I wanted him to use Dark Angel. Now he can't use Dark Angel in this book because of the cancellation.

This is the definition of injustice.

It really is. :frown:

Aye. Exploring her marriage of convenience to Wisdom would almost certainly have been explored in the following year. Along with Shang-Chi and Young Killraven, probably.

So many things.

Marvel really are fuckwits, at the moment.

Out of any book, they should have given it time to develop Stateside - esp. since it is selling well in the UK.

Diamond sales numbers can go **** themselves.

No, they look at everything...and as well as it did in the UK, sadly, it just wasn't enough to make up for the dreadful US sales.

I know not all bigots are white supremacists, but all white supremacists are bigots.
It's not a meaningless distinction -- being a white supremacist generally implies a belief in active (often violent) measures in support of your bigotry. Big Zero appears to be a white supremacist.

It's really a shame that Marvel and comics readers in general won't give B and C type characters a chance. Captain Britain and M13 was a well-produced book that deserved a longer life.

I don't expect Agents of Atlas (and equally good book) will last much longer than CB did.

Meanwhile the X-Books are about as interesting as cold toast (and I was a huge X-fan in the day). Go figure.
