This thread isn't to review Trinity after the fact as much as it is to speculate on what, if anything, will lead FROM it.
In a way, more is possible than from Final Crisis. People who were dead can be alive again. Places that were gone can probably be back. Memories might possibly be different.
I wonder if allowing Busiek to end it that way was kind of to make up for the fact that "Final Crisis" WASN'T really written with "rebooting" in mind. The exact sequence of FC and Trinity isn't clear to me though. It FEELS like its after it, except you know... for that whole "Batman" thing.

Who cares where it fits in. Let's just say Trinity told a better story than FC, and leave it at that.
There are a few obvious hooks for future stories (Tomorrow Woman, Xor, the Dreambound, Enigma, Krona's egg earth.) Of those, Tomorrow Woman and the Dreambound seem like the most promising for an actual story, although in all honesty I'd rather see the Dreambound with their own talk show than as superheroes.
Would anybody care at all about a Xor mini?

I figure Final Crisis is pretty much an elseworld story and Batman died somehow off-panel.

Final what now?
I have vague recollections of this thing you refer to.
One of those mid-90's events like Bloodlines, was it?

Yeah... it was a weird story where the Hawks died and Aquaman was back alive. Oh, and Darkseid is beaten by music, just like at the end of Countdown.

Yeah, we even got one of those weird teams that nobody cares about and who never shows up except in crowd scenes. I think they might have gotten killed off in Blackest Night or Ultimate Crisis.
The Human Flame was cool though. He was the Hitman of Final Crisis, even if he didn't have nearly as long of a run. I was thrilled to see him get what ended up being a 24 issue run, to go along with the initial 6 issue mini.

Sure, but beyond that, they left a larger hook that almost anything could have happened OFF PANEL. There's basically an opening that the entire world got remade and certainly we didn't get to see everything that changed (and we know other stuff did change--they pretty much admitted it).

I don't know what WILL come out of it, but I know I'd LIKE to see.
I'd like to see Tomorrow Woman join a team. What team? Well, wouldn't it be nice to see Busiek pick up this thread by incorporating her into his Justice League team? She'd be a nice replacement for Wonder Woman, if she's going to be off doing stuff, and the 'android with a soul' angle is always a classic (thank you Red Tornado).
The Dream Bound I wouldn't mind seeing getting an ongoing...though they'd have to have a better impetus for being than they currently do. The team is quirky and fun - like Marvel's Agents of Atlas - but they need a hook, something that gives their book an overarching plot and theme but allows individual adventures as well. And they'd need a good writer -- Sturges would absolutely excel at a book like this.
I'd like to see Krona followed up upon in Green Lantern - also written by Busiek. :)
I don't really believe this book generated much more of serious interest, at least for me. Xor, Engima, Gangbuster...I don't dislike them, I wouldn't mind seeing them pop up on teams, but I don't particularly care for them either. I have no desire to see their further adventures, as it were.
That's okay though. I enjoyed Trinity regardless, thought it was a well told tale...it doesn't need to be a Grant Morrison like project that spawns all different possibilities and spin offs and enduring characters (I'm still angry that they didn't spin off more from Seven Soldiers and Final Crisis, I will always be mad at that!).

Interesting analogy. There are still a few of those characters kicking around from that series. Does anyone know the surviving ratio of those new BL characterrs?
I like the prospects of these new characters referring to Trinity from this event now that it is said and done.
Tomorrow Woman
Dreambound
Konvikt
Enigma&Steph-dog
Gangbuster&Tarot -- tchnically not new
and that New Trinity--

It was made clear in the last issue that those were side effects of the Worldsoul piecing itself together and would fade when it was finally whole again. (Which one could argue wouldn't take long.)

Are you referring to memories or people and places. People's memories would fade, but if you're talking about people and places, I didn't get that vibe at all.

Me too. Did not one of the heroes specifically state he remembered the whole Trinity adventure at the post-reset party. Or was that party during the resetting in a small time bubble and that would probably fade. But this would not make as much sense for being brought to the readers attention in the wrap up. It seems to me that they will recall the altered reality (if any writer so chooses of course).

I got the distinct feel that all is not right with the world, hence the resurrections, while the Worldsoul is sorting itself out. When it finally corrects itself, everything will be back to normal.
