and then simply couldn't handle it any more.

what a freaking TURD this film is.

I could handle the terrible acting of Mark Whalberg, and John Leguizamo (tho Zooey D. was really pushing it. . her "acting" was so bad, it actually went into parody category), but when the hippy guy started going on about Hot Dogs?

just too much.

even for watching it on HBO.

I just turned the thing off, and came back into the Office to do work.

yeah. The film is SO bad, that I'd rather do work than continue to watch it.

what a freaking turd.

Be glad you didn't wait until the end only to be disappointed to find out that it was plants that were causing the whole thing.

Edit: And by "plants," I mean the grass and trees.

It was on? Damn, I missed it. Oh, well. I just bought Slumdog Millionaire on-demand. I have the feeling that I will be extremely depressed in two or so hours.

You forgot elected government officials too.

Honestly, I find the experience feels more tolerable if you look at the movie as a comedy. Like, in the first 15 minutes, when the construction workers all jump, I sang out "It's Raining Men" in the theater. The rest of the movie gave me belly laughs. It's just that laughable, and more fun when viewed in that light.

I saw the last third or so of the movie the other night. My god, Mark Wahlberg is an absolutely terrible actor. When you start thinking to yourself that even Ahnuld could sell those lines better, you know you're dealing with a shitty actor. I mean he's hot and everything, but if he's gonna appear in movies, can't they just have him standing around silently without any clothes on?

To be fair, Mark was good in "The Departed"

I thought "Shooter" was good, too.

EDIT: Oh, and "We Own the Night."

Find the MASTERS OF HORROR episode entitled THE SCREWFLY SOLUTION for the proper way to tell that story.

Yeah, one of the worst movies ever. It's ranks up there with Cabin Fever. Although, I think Wahlberg is good in some stuff. His roles are really hit or miss.

Sadly, i am one of the only people i know who loved Lady in the Water. A movie about STORYTELLING. And told with heart and intelligence. Sigh.

I thought he was the only weak point of that film. He was OK towards the end, but in the beginning he almost made my eyes roll. He couldn't sell the lines he was throwing at DiCaprio.

I did think he was alright in Planet of the Apes & Basketball Diaries.......I don't remember him being bad in The Italian Job, and he was OK in the campy film The Big Hit.

I knew a guy who was a taller, more built, and better looking version of Mark Wahlberg, so I don't see Marky Mark that way.

I liked it. I didn't see it as great, but enjoyed it and don't see why people hate the movie so much. I guess it wasn't what they were expecting.

I was talking to Alan Ruck at a Chiller Expo convention about a year ago, and we were joking about the movie and M. Night's fondness for surprise twists a bit. I happened to say, "The twist isn't global warming or 'the earth goes crazy,' is it?" and he got....kinda nervous for a second.

And just like that, I guessed correctly at the twist of yet another M. Night movie without having seen it. (The other was The Sixth Sense, which I randomly guessed at my LCS years ago. "Hey Sean, seen Sixth Sense yet? There's a big twist at the end" "No, haven't seen it. Is Bruce Willis dead in it?" ".....holy crap, yeah, it is." "Wow, cool.")

I was unfortunate enough to see a free late-night sneak preview screening of the film. The audience hated it, as did I. However, I had to admit that, more than any other modern film I've ever seen in the theater, it was tailor-made for MST3K-style mockery.

I might actually watch the movie again just to hear it ridiculed.

Man,what about the part whey they get to this guys house and try to get in and the man inside refuses.

Mark Whalberg then insists "he's normal" and it's okay to let them in and demonstrates how normal he is by singing a little song.

M. Night, not Wahlberg, is the ultimate perpetrator here.
