any of you guys or girls have suggestions.

I'd be coming out of penn station

yes, I could take a cab, but I'm gonna be working over there for quite some time. so cab wise isnt gonna cut it $$ wise

You could beat feet or hop in a cab.

You could also try the NY waterway bus (http://www.nywaterway.com/Home/RidetheFerry/SchedulesRoutes/BusRoute/tabid/134/Default.aspx?BusID=14) from Midtown on the downtown local, might get you most of the way there.

You do not need a ferry pass to use this bud BTW. Free NYC bus.

From Penn. Station, take the A.C or E going downtown to 14th street(stay in the first car). At 14th street go up the stairs and follow the signs to take the L train(don't use the ramp; head to the last or the penultimate car) and disembark at the 3rd avenue stop. This will put you at 14th st and 3rd ave.

You can do the same with the 1, 2 or 3 line, but that would involve a long fucking walk through this tunnel (http://www.nycsubway.org/perl/show?97880) to get to the 6th ave platform.

ETA: From Penn. Sta., this will give you a travel time of 15 min tops.

you the man

I wasnt sure what car to get into, cause I know thats always the tricky part

and I wasnt sure which line to take..

thanks pal, you helped me out big time.

sucks starting a new job site the first day in the city. I'm a union electrician and once the first trip is over, you find the easier routes.

This is what you want. The L is reliable as hell this time of day.

How is the L at 6:30 in the morning though?

and after 2:30

cause I know some subwaylines suck.

I think the 6 train comes to mind

The L is good at both of those times. Six thirty is semi-rush hour for some folks and 2:30 everything's good.
