I'm a fan of Alex Raymond's Flash Gordon strips and was wondering which reprints best represent his work. I've seen the recent reprints from Checker but I wasn't impressed by the quality of some of the reproduction. I've also read some of the Nostalgia Press reprints from the 1970s. The panels are reproduced at a larger size, but the strips have been recoloured. The colouring is clean and vibrant but does not match the original colour designs. This is particularly noticeable when the text describes Ming and Aura as having yellow skin, but they are coloured pink. Prince Barin still has yellow skin though. The panels have also been rearranged to fit a portrait format and the text has been altered. Has anyone read the Kitchen Sink reprints and know how they compare in quality?

The Kitchen Sink volumes are, like just about everything they published, excellent. Generally, my recommendation is to get the Checker volumes unless you can afford to hunt down the KSP volumes. They aren't that much better (my theory is that Checker used KSP books to shoot from), and probably not worth the difference in cost at this point.
