Best. Star Trek

Okay. Angels and Demons.

Worst> Wolvie.

Having already red Angels and Demons takes alot of the fun out of the movie - plus, finding new and creative ways for the characters to give you a bunch of exposition in the middle of action gets old fast. I think that the amount of detail and riddle solving in Brown's stories work better in books.

For that kind of story, I prefer the dumbed down National Treasure series of movies.

Star Trek.

I guess in order: Star Trek, Wolvie, Angels & Demons, T:S, and NATM2 (but only cause I haven't seen it or the original. Yet.)

Star Trek, I guess, but it's been a really weak summer as far as blockbusters go.

I've only seen Star Trek and Wolverine so far.

But I only plan to add Terminator Salvation to that list.

Star Trek rocked despite issues.

Wolverine was mediocre at best.

I know I'm in the minority, in that I think UP! looks like a Dreamworks idea in a Pixar color....but I'll still give my money, and kids money, to go see it. :frown:

So far, Star Trek is the only one I've seen(loved it) and Public Enemies is the only other movie I see coming out this summer that I might like over it.

1. Terminator - it wasn't perfect but it was enjoyable and all that you can ask for out of a summer popcorn flick.

2. Star Trek - it was a good movie but after hearing all the praise about it I expected it to be better.

3. Wolverine - had good parts but some deeply flawed parts as well (what they did to Deadpool was blasphemy to the Merc with a Mouth).

Gotta go with Trek so far. Very pleasantly surprised that I finally saw a Trek movie I'd want to see more than once for the first time in at least a decade.

Just to be a jerk, I'm going to point out there was only 1 other Trek movie made in the last decade (Nemesis WAS 7 years ago!). So that's really not saying much.

Heh, well, make it fifteen or seventeen years then. I thought First Contact was okay but too small-screen in its visual conception and Planet of the Hippies (formally known as Insurrection) was a giant turkey. I skipped Nemesis entirely, which was apparently a good thing.

1) Terminator Salvation
2) Wolverine
3) Angels & Demons
4) Star Trek
5) Night At the Museum

The way this summer is going, any movie I had no desire to see and whose trailer looked like crap to me were the movies I actually enjoyed. If Transformers and G.I. Joe are anything like Terminator and Wolverine, I'll actually enjoy them even though they look like complete shit to me right now.

Considering every Terminator movie's plot seems to be inconsequential since Skynet keeps sending Terminators back in time and, thanks to T3, it seems no matter what the Connor family does, Judgement Day was inevitable, I'm surprised I loved Terminator Salvation. Even though Bale, who I feel is a great actor, was a little bland and Bryce Dallas Howard wasn't used at all, the new Terminators and great action made this a fun movie imho.

It's hard to believe I liked Wolverine since I hate what Marvel is currently publishing and really only find the first X-Men movie worth re-watching(despite the awful performance by Halle "how'd I ever get an Oscar" Berry). Even though I hate the sort of changes for changes sake that the non-comic loving producers seem to force on these movies, Wolverine is a pretty enjoyable guilty pleasure. Blob was stupid and some of the cgi was poor, but I generally liked it.

Angels & Demons was like the Da Vinci only better. An entertaining movie that you forget everything about 2 days later.

I've never seen more than 1 episode of any Star Trek show, but enjoyed the original 7 movies(the Next Generation movies not so much). While I would give Star Trek a mild recommendation, this unadulterated love for it by some is inexplicable. While Kirk, Pike, and Bones were good, the rest were poor(either in talent or fitting into their roles). The biggest problem is the poor script. Unlike Bay's Transformers, J.J. Abrams was able to rise above it and deliver a flawed but somewhat enjoyable movie. Unfortunately, even with today's cgi, the aliens of the Star trek Universe still suck.

While Night At the Museum 2 was better than the crappy first one, not even Ben Stiller, Bill Hader, the adorable Amy Adams, and Hank Azaria could make it better than "meh".

This summer seems like it might be one of the worst in terms of delivering great movies(popcorn or otherwise). The Brothers Bloom, Up, and The Hangover are the only trailers that made me want to see their movies.

............ Drag Me To Hell

Thats what I was going to say! Easily my favorite "Summer movie" so far. EASILY.

I havent yet seen Star Trek, I hate the franchise but hear nothing but good things about this one. I think I'll still wait for rental though. Wolverine was fun, but terrible. The others I have no interest.

Favourite movies so far, Star Trek, Wolverine and Terminator Salvation. I admit that TS was not that good. But I loved the cinematography and liked the characters.

.

I don't read alot of fiction, but I absolutely loved Angels and Demons I think I ploughed through it in little over a week. So I was really disapointed when I saw the film. While I did not expect the film to follow the book verbatim. I did expect it to be a bit more faithful, and to be frank I was bored watching the movie. I hope that the film is re-made down the line. Hopefully as tv mini.

Saw UP yesterday on the 3D screen..........my kids liked it. I thought it was a little better than Cars and Ratatouille, but no where even close to the likes of Wall E, Finding Nemo, or The Incredibles. Wall E was a hard act to follow I guess.

Anyway, I've seen two summer movies now, and I go...

1.) Star Trek
2.) UP!

I still want to see Public Enemies and Harry Potter this summer, and I kind of want to see The Hangover....every thing else.....I'll wait till DVD.
