GODDAMN!... FANMADE?!?... NO MOTHERFUCKING WAY!... THAT WAS JUST ALLOUT GREAT!... I WANT A GL MOVIE SO BAD AFTER SEEING THIS!...
I can see Nathan Fillion as Hal Jordan... I never thought about it, but he would make a perfect casting choice... and unless I missed it somewhere, it would have been nice to see Sinestro included in the trailer... I'm gonna go back and check it out, but...
GODDAMN, MY MAN... EXCELLENTLY DONE... professional-looking trailer on every level.... WELL DONE...

Hollywood. Sign up the creator of the trailer right now. The guy
has a vision. This was holy fucking shit awesome. It has been a long time ago that a trailer wet my appetite for a movie.
Once again it has been proventhat the real talented people are not in the Hollywood business.
And Fillion IS Jordan.

Once the official trailer comes out, I'd like to see how it compares to this. This trailer is better then some of the FOX's comic book movies.

Hey guys, sorry if this is a repost (if so please delete), but have you guys checked out the Green Lantern trailer this guy put together? It is not real, but it is one of, if not the best fake trailer I have ever seen. Nathan Fillion is Hal Jordan.

I saw it over on the other thread... agreed, it IS one of the very best and highly professional-looking fanmades out there... seeing it makes me wish it were real... but of course, I'm sure the authentic and real deal when it comes around will more than likely be sorely lacking in comparison to this one...
and Nathan Fillion IS Hal Jordan...

Hollywood created every one of those shots.
This guy's "vision" was to turn Iron Man green and he's a genius? Yes, this is incredibly well done for what it is, the best yet for sure, but let's not get TOO ahead of ourselves!

it was the execution of how it was all put together that was impressive, as opposed to the usual claptrap that's put out...

Exactly. Its easy to make a great trailer when your stealing some of the best CGI effects from other movies and passing them off as if they belong to another movie. If an actual GL movie was to try and replicate the effects from all the different movies that were used in this trailer it would be a $200,000,000 flick. For a fan trailer it was good but it was still a fan trailer where a guy turned characters green in a few scenes.
I didn't recognize every movie used but I know I saw scenes from Serenity (possibly it was Firefly), Superman Returns, Star Trek, Star Trek III, Iron Man, and Star Wars: Revenge of the Sith.

I think the Thundercats one done not too long ago was more impressive, on a technical level.
But still, yes, it was well done. We just know nothing of actual directing/producing talent that some people want to throw the creator's way based solely on something that doesn't truly demonstrate any of these skills.
Sandy Collora is more that type than this by far. He at least directs real people with a camera to create his "fake" trailers. THAT'S impressive execution.

This guy's vision was to create something epic and he did. When you look at the trailer you see something epic. It doesn't matter if he used scenes from Hollywood movies. What matters is that with those scenes he showed what a Green Lantern movie should look like.

Like Iron Man fighting Andorians with some Fantastic Four extendo-arm action thrown in for fun.
Why isn't Jon Favreau directing this movie? It seems like this is what everybody REALLY wants.

Well, to be fair, it looks like the guy did a lot of his own 3-D modeling for the aliens of the Corps. You've got to love ANYONE with the audacity to go ahead and throw Ch'p in with the lanterns. It would have only been more awesome if he had thrown in that one Lantern (whose name I forget) who is the big ball of crystal with the mohawk.

You mean you want Jon Favreau as a director. I can hardly think of anyone who could make a great Green Lantern movie, let alone an epic Green Lantern movie. However, there are a lot of directors that can make an epic failure of a Green Lantern movie. But the person who made the trailer could definitely make an epic Green Lantern movie.

A G.L. movie should look like something cobbled together from clips of a bunch of other shows?
He didn't create anything, he simply co-opted what others created. And just because it takes place in space doesn't make it epic. He displayed a nice bit of technical skill (and even that was hardly groundbreaking) but that's pretty much it..

You have NO idea how hard I'm laughing at right now.
No wonder we get so many crappy movies out when this is the bar to reach to give someone directorial duties of a movie.
You can seriously judge how this guy frames a shot, lights a scene, tweaks a script, leads a whole crew, motivating them with his people skills and directs an actor for optimal emotional impact from this?

Good for you, because you don't strike me like the type that can have a laugh. You are way too serious.
No wonder we get so many crappy movies out when this is the bar to reach to give someone directorial duties of a movie.
You get crappy movies because the current crop of Hollywood directors don't really give a shit if they make a great movie or not. Now, it's more than ever about the money. And as long as the audience goes to see that crap, crap like that will be produced.
You can seriously judge how this guy frames a shot, lights a scene, tweaks a script, leads a whole crew, motivating them with his people skills and directs an actor for optimal emotional impact from this?
I can judge a vision. And if people were willing to listen to that person they might learn something. But no, someone with some years in the business would never listen to someone who hasn't been in the business for a day. It's that arrogance you find everywhere in any business these days. Just because someone doesn't have experience with something (according to other people) doesn't mean he can't do it. Enough people can step up if given the opportunity.

hey guys, this is a FAN made trailer that I saw on youtube, but this kid did such a good job that it looks like a legit movie trailer. I think you should check it out because if the studio does anything like this then the GL movie will be unreal. I didn't see anything like this in the old threads and I wanted to share it with people who might actually get some enjoyment from it like I did.

First off, I don't really hold fan-made trailers up to the same standard that I have for a professionally-made trailer, because the fans are doing it on their own (unpaid) time, they are doing it out of a sense of love for the character/genre and they really don't have the same resources that a megacorporation like Time-Warner does.
Having said that, I was more impressed with the video-editing skills used to make it(it's amazing what you can accomplish with Adobe After Effects and a handful of Nathan Fillion clips-has he done that much work ?) as opposed to how it was written; the fan-made stuff always seems kind of corny and fan-fiction-y to me and this did too.
That shot of Oa was fantastic and whoever did this did a great job on the alien Green Lanterns.

The thing that I was just blown away with was how it looked visually. I agree with the fanboy fiction comment, but if the studios can give us a movie that visually looks like that or better then I'll be more then happy.

That was impressive. The Andorian was an especially nice touch.
That said, I'm not quite ready to dub him the savior of Hollywood.
