Its a crisis Earl Hickey never thought he'd face. After doing good things for 4 seasons and 96 episodes... his show could be gone. NBC pulled the plug a few days ago.

For those who don't know this show , heres the rundown :
Earl Hickey (Jason Lee ) is a petty crook who had lived a life of being just a bad idiot. He soon wins $100,000 in the lottery and gets hit by a car. Earl then pledges to change his life and make things right after seeing Carson Daly discuss karma.

His brother Randy (Ethan Surplee) and his ex-wife Joy (Jaime Pressly) , Crabman (Eddie Steeples) and Catalina (Nadine Velazquez) also star.
Can good karma keep this show around ? With rumors of ABC , Fox and now TBS in the running...will Earl's mighty mustache and sense of right keep him around ?

I hope it gets saved. Just started watching this show on TBS and love it. If it does end it deserves a proper ending.

I hope it gets picked up, I've always liked it, though I do think the past season hasn't been as good as previous ones.
One thing that kinda bothers me, I thought he used up the last of his money when he was in prison to throw that big dance. Plus, he only won $100,000, which is probably only about $60,000 after taxes. How is he financing things now?

His latest ex-wife, Billie, had money that she gave to him once she decided to leave civilization and join the Camdenites at the end of season three.

I have to admit, that's how I got caught up on this show.
But it's really fun, and since it's in syndication already, maybe the tightwad execs will see that it can earn enough to influence them to keep the show going. I think it's a very fun show!

Reaper got canned as well. So the CW can team their crappy new Melrose Place remake with their crappy new 90210.

I hope it gets picked up too. After the really bad "Earl goes to Jail" season I really thought this season had gotten the show back track and it was more like the first and second seasons.

If it isn't for Smallville and Supernatural I would not watch CW. Hell Smallville got moved to fridays in favor for some lame Twilight wannabe vampire show

Really disappointed to see that NBC is keeping the very lame Parks and Recreation and ending Earl.

I finally got around to watching the season finale on my DVR, and now it really sucks that it got canceled. They ended on a To Be Continued placard!

Whats fucked up is that show performs worse than Earl. But it and Community are Office clones and NBC wants that. The budget basically killed the show. Those shows are cheaper (and boring...really....really boring in Parks and Recreation's case) to do and they want that.
I hope the cheapness backfires.

Yes! I can't watch P&R back to back with The Office. It's excruciating to see that style for an hour, especially when the first half hour (P&R) is pretty awful. I do like Anziz Ansari, however, and am glad he's guesting on Reno 911 next week.

Thare is a possibility that Reaper is going to be picked up by ABC. They are negotiating with CW concerning on obtaining the show right now.

Fingers crossed for Reaper then.
Any chance of My Name Is Earl being picked up by another network ?

Its became a longshot. Fox has passed (obviously the cartoons on the lineup took more importance) and ABC and TBS were the last contenders. TBS exec said they love the show and would love to add it to the network.

Would be great if both Earl and Reaper get picked up elsewhere and their ratings go UP too.

It would be nice. I'll cheer Reaper on since I really hope it gets the usual 88 episodes it needs for syndication. Earl has that. Its got 96 total episodes (counting the hour long ones broken into 2 parts) and has its syndication .
I'll be dissapointed a dumb NBC dropped it for budget reasons and approved lower ranked shows. Which is just amazing and its no shock they are 4th as a network.

I was wondering why at the end of episodes it would say ABC productions

TBS is in talks to pick up NBC's recent castoff My Name Is Earl -- hey, they have to make room for those prime-time Leno hours somehow! That news plus the fact that CBS is picking up NBC's canceled Medium -- not to mention ABC's fair success with running also-formerly-of-NBC Scrubs -- has me wishing we'd gotten this TV version of the NFL draft going sooner. Granted, the switch to cable in particular has a down side; namely, budgets can be smaller there. But I'd love to see ABC's late, great Samantha Who? find a home on, say, Lifetime. (Good old Television for Women is, after all, slowly moving toward hip-ifying itself with Project Runway as well as sitcoms from the likes of Sherri Shepherd and Valerie Bertinelli), as well as underappreciated single-girl dramedies ABC's Men in Trees and CBS' The Ex List. Meanwhile, the CW's Privileged could've lived a long, happy life on ABC Family. Speaking of which, maybe that net's own Kyle XY would've done better on Sci Fi. (And as my colleague Marc Bernardin noted, Dollhouse, though spared the ax by Fox, might've been better off on cable, if only for creative reasons.)
What do you think, PopWatchers? What other TV draft trades would you like to see? Where would Dirty Sexy Money, Life, and Pushing Daisies go?

Hopefully things get worked out soon . I think Earl paired with Bill Engvall would make a good TBS comedy block. And sure...the network couldn't do 24-25 new episodes a year. But with the repeats they air...I could see Earl doing 12-15 episodes a year .
So hopefully soon My Name is Earl gets saved.

There may be life yet left in "My Name Is Earl."
Twentieth Century Fox TV is in talks with cabler TBS about a possible 13-episode pickup. TBS already carries "Earl" reruns.
The talks for new episodes are said to be in the very preliminary stages, and it's far from certain that a deal will be reached, insiders cautioned.
The laffer starring Jason Lee as a reformed petty thief was axed by NBC in May after four seasons on the Peacock. There was some chatter that the Fox network might pick up the project from its sibling studio.
"Earl" could be a fit with TBS' broad slate of original laffers, including "The Bill Engvall Show," "My Boys," "Meet the Browns" and "10 Items or Less."
Reps for 20th and TBS declined comment.
Plllleeeeeeease let this happen. Jason Lee has came out and said he wants to come back and play Earl Hickey some more. I hope it happens. Come on TBS. Make it happen. Give me a reason to watch .

TBS and 20TH Century Fox couldn't make the economics work on a 13 episode season...so the show is sadly gone. Which sucks...since it could have been great to get a finale on who Earl Jr's father was. DAMN IT.

It's sad that this show is gone when so many others deserve to be. I didn't watch it regularly, but I was always entertained when I did.

Yep...pretty true. We need more low rated Office clones to save a buck.

The Office is my favorite show, so I'd be pissed if it got canceled. Parks and Recreation on the other hand has not impressed me. I hope they find a groove next season.

Or The Incredibles 2: Syndrome's Revenge!
(Actually, if Brad Bird directed and the rest of the original voice cast returned, especially Sarah Vowell and whoever did Edna Mode, I'd watch the hell out of that!)

Bird did Mode's voice himself. He's the bees knees. E. Mode, and he made Iron Giant. He's just the best.
