Back in the day,Silver Surfer's weight was very light. When did he start to develop mass? (Yes,I know weight and mass don't mean the same thing,but humor me:redface: )

Is there something in particular that brought this to mind? I mean did a writer or someone refer to a difference? Or are we talking about in his apperance, as he is drawn now compared to say, Jack Kirby's Surfer.

Yes!! I hope someone can supply pics of Loki & Spider-Man just punching the heck out of him,but both remarked how Silver Surfer didn't have that much weight. I'm not trying to understand gamma radiation,I'm just to satisfy my curiosity :smile:

Maybe they were referring to his strength. Like in heavyweight boxing.

Around the time Ron Lim started drawing him during the 2nd Surfer series. Lim was on the title for quite awhile and he started out drawing him rather slim, but he gained more and more muscles as time went on. Some future artists stuck with that, others didn't.

Surfer doesn't have 'weight' as we understand it. To have weight you must allow an object to be accelerated by a planet or allow an object to be pulled down by a planet's gravity.

This basic law doesn't happen with Surfer since he has total control over the laws of physics and total control over every molecule in his body. Silver Surfer can make himself as heavy as a blackhole or as light as an anti-graviton particle
