Didio mentions it over at Newsarama (http://www.newsarama.com/comics/050915-DiDio.html) today - they kinda made a big deal (in interviews at least) when he was announced as the series artist, and now he's gone already? (Moving onto a Blackest Night mini it seems)

Lopez is a good artist, I just don't like the bland colors.

There should be a little more pop to them or at least make the art stand out more, but that's just me.
