When did marvel stop using the name "limited series ?"

Back in the 80s marvel never called thier books mini-series. It was "limited series". When did marvel stop using that name? What was last book to use it?

I believe they still do. I often see Marvel drop the words 'limited series'. Fairly certain the two are simply synonyms, and 'mini' will be used because it's shorter than 'limited series'.

Like 'movie' and 'motion picture'?

I think mini series are 4 issues or so issue stories and limited series are 12 issues or so. I may be wrong. By definition I think they are the same. I'm talking about their usage.

Nah, I don't think even that distinction is made. X-Men Kingbreaker has been referred to as a limited series and was 4 issues long, and the old 4 issue stories in the 80s were all called 'limited series'.

If I'm not mistaken, the current Wizard of Oz is branded as a Limited Series.

They still use it. I just glanced at some of my recent issues, and where an ongoing title would have a number they say, "Marvel Limited Series: 1 of 4".

The longer limited series are also called maxi-series.
