If there is already a previous thread with the same topic, then please merge my thread with it.

Canada- Alpha Flight; Omega Flight
United Kingdom- Excalibur
Russia- Winter Guard/Soviet Super Soldiers
Japan- Big Hero 6
France- Les Héros de Paris

Recently, half of both the Omega Flight and Excalibur were Americans.

U.S. Agent, Arachne and the latest Guardian are on the Omega Flight

Juggernaut and Dazzler are on Excalibur

Classic Alpha Flight.

If we are going with currently active... Winter Guard.

Current MI-13 I like that we can finally have a non X team.

Put me down for MI-13 as well. I like the mix of characters, and it's nice to see a governmental agency actually having some procedural meetings beyond having the team canned.

I wouldn't want to swing the vote in any way, but Darkstar is the best character ever and she's a former member of The Winter Guard.

Winter Guard for sure.

Vanguard
Dark Star
Ursa Major
Red Guardian
Crimson Dynamo

Awesome list of characters with a lot of untapped potential that could really be used in new and interesting ways.

Another one down for MI:13.

Big nod to Alpha Flight and the Winter Guard though. Both teams are classics.

I personally love alpha flight, which is difficult because they've been getting the long end of the crap whipping stick for quite a while. I wonder why no one seems to be able to 'get' them?

Do we think that international teams could still be successful? It seems not, as the last tthree flight series were canceled, CB&M13 is great, but not jumping out of the gates...so are international teams even viable in the greater MU as books?

I think it would be awesome to see an Alpha Flight mini right now that shows how another country is dealing with America going crazy and putting Norman Osborn in charge of everything. Be kind of a perfect counter. Maybe say James Hudson survied the Collective attack but lost maybe and eye and leg and is now the bitter new head of Department H which was restarted after the whole Skrull invasion. It could take on amuch more serious approach to gurading Canada from all superpowered threats including whatever Osborn is palying at.

Count me as another for MI:13, not Excalibur. It's finally a foreign superhero team whose defining characteristic isn't that they're foreign. They actually have... you know... a concept.

I... I can't vote for Alpha Flight and imply a vote for Omega Flight. I just can't.

Not that Omega Flight was really that bad a team idea, but the explanation for said team and the story therein weren't really to my tastes.

Pretty much a france version of the justice league. The thing joined the team for one issue during CW.

Marvel should do a mini-series about teams from other countries.

Classic Alpha Flight.

If we are going with currently active... Winter Guard.

...That's the real surprise here, in that a team with as little consecutive or coherent exposure as the Winter Guard is ranking as high as it is. And I tend to agree with you: a distinction should have been made between classic Alpha Flight and the versions that came after.

But I also enjoy some Big Hero 6  the last LS with that team was not bad.

Well, I guess MI:13 are pretty cool but Excalibur still gets my vote because they're old school.

Classic Excalibur has three of my favourite Marvel characters in it's lineup. unfortunately, it also had the disaster that was Scott Lobdell. I'd vote Excalibur but only the periods that Claremont, Davis and Ellis were handling the team.

MI:13 are a great time but they're still relatively new and need a little time to grow on me. I'm also not a fan of post-Tomb of Dracula Blade.

Classic Alpha Flight were a great team but anything post-Byrne is pretty ordinary. Omega Flight was terrible.

I went with Alpha Flight, although they tend to get disrespected/killed (literally in some cases) anywhere outside of their own book. Certainly the most established non-US group, and some interesting connections with the Marvel Universe. I also enjoyed Steven Seagle's run quite a bit, although its impact is nil in the modern universe and all the new characters added are depowered or dead by my count. I'm not a fan of the US focused Omega Flight team, though.

Winter Guard, the possibilities a book like that could have is limitless. It could go in to the cold war , and all other sorts of Russian history stuff.

Well, technically Alistaire Stuart is Scottish. Although he's that kind of wealthy Scottish who go out of their way to lose their accent.

As was Alysande Stuart, his deceased twin. One of her alternates from other Universes was even that world's Scottish Captain Britain "Caledonia" who turned up during Chris Claremont's Fantastic Four run.

My vote goes for MI-13 - and therefore for OTHER by default.

It's criminal that they are not listed on this poll. Excalibur are long gone. MI-13 replaced them. If you're going to have an option for AplhaFlight/Omega Flight then by rights it should really be Excalibur/MI-13

I voted Excalibur (v.1) because I have very fond memories from Claremont/Davis then Davis/Davis runs.
I've only read the first 4 episodes of MI: 13. Good start, but too early for me to tell whether I'll like them, especially compared to Excalibur.

But then we could add the Excalibur votes to the Other votes, since most if not all of them are for MI: 13. Which would make them the poll winners.

MI:13 is one of the best books out there today. It is very good.
However, it will have to stay good for a good long while, or at least get GREAT for a nice run before it catches up to Alpha Flight.

Seems a fair statement.
I think most of us Brits have been swayed by patriotism, I know I was.

I must admit that it was patriotism (I can't get into Captain America at all...) that made me pick up Captain Britain & MI13 #1. However, the one thing that's kept me buying is Paul Cornell's excellent handling of the book.

No question!
After reading Wisdom I knew Cornell was gonna be amazing, was just agreeing that Mi:13 really needs to be going longer before we can fairly measure it against Alpha flight.
Kinda like comparing a first album to an entire career at the moment.

MI-13 (i picked Excalibur as my vote though because it's basically an earlier version of the group). Since the team theoretically includes every hero in the UK and the current main roster includes two of my favorite characters they are easily my favorite team in the MU PERIOD right now.

Core Team:
-Wisdom
-Captain Britain
-Spitfire
-Blade
-Black Knight (Dan Whitman)
-Faiza Hussain

Reserve Team Members/Characters that Can/Should Show up:
-Meggan
-Widget
-Albion
-Kylun
-Union Jack
-Tink
-Psylocke
-Lionheart
-Micromax
-Caledonia
-Red Dragon
-Shamrock

It just doesn't get much better

Harley's appearance in #11 was the first spoken appearance since PAD/Frank's Hulk run, yes. Although I have a feeling that they may have appeared in the background in Avengers Forever or similar. But purely as a cameo.
