I've really be enjoying War of Kings. Is there any chance Marvel will release War of Kings deluxe hardcovers like they did for Annihilation and Annihilation: Conquest?

You had me at 'War of Kings' - but lost me at 'written by Christos Gage'.

I'll get it because I didn't know anything about Gladiator before War of Kings and I love the character.

I'm glad we're going to finally get to see Kallark's backstory, but sad that neither DnA nor Keith Giffen (who did a great job with Gladiator in both the Gladiator/Supreme story and his appearances in Thanos) aren't the guys telling it. I would have also liked Lim on the art for this, but Asrar is a nice artist as well.
As for the digital presentation... no thank you. Marvel's releasing these stories in comic form in July as a two-issue limited, so I'm happy to wait for that.

I'll be getting the story largely for Asrar's art, but will be getting in the printed form that was solicited this month.

Since there's a "Road to War of Kings" TPB coming soon (with X-Men: Kingbreaker, the Secret Invasion: War of Kings one-shot and some other related comics that lead up to WoK), I would imagine the hardcover treatment for War of Kings is coming later.

Oh come on, give the new guys a chance. Gage is doing a great job on Initiative.
He's a damn fine young new talent.
Cage fails. Only his Avengers title is somewhat readable. What good stories has he written for Marvel?

What has Christos Gage written that wasn't good?
His A:I is absolutely great. It's a seamless transition i quality from Slott to Gage. His one-shots for T-bolts were also wonderful, and again, you couldn't tell it was a different writer than Warren Ellis.
That's all I can remember from him off-hand. I know I've read more from him.
I did read something on Wildstorm from him years ago - I think it was called Revelations (?). I featured 3 female characters.
I knew nothing of Wildstorm, and I enjoyed it. It wasn't the best thing ever, but it was definitely enjoyable and I was glad I read it.

I thought his Thunderbolts one-shots were horrible, and thought the same about his Deadshot mini for DC.

I thought Deadshot was great, myself- it's what really got me turned onto Gage's work. Union Jack was also excellent. I didn't really care for his TBolts stuff, though. There was some good material there, but overall it wasn't quite as good as I was hoping. It was definitely hampered by (IMO) poor artwork, as well.

Spider-Man/X-Men might have been good... save for the fact that the payoff was Mr. Sinister spent years pulling strings so he could make... X-Raven, a mix of his own DNA, that of several X-Men through the years, Spider-Man, and predominantly, Kraven the Hunter.
That wasn't anti-climactic, as much as it was WTFlimactic.

From what I've heard about X-Men/Spidey, Marco Alberti's artwork more than made up for any problems people had with the script.
Gage is a writer I like following and reading. Dunno why (well, he writes good stories is a reason), but he certainly hasn't disappointed me yet.

Weird. Christos Gage is baffling writer for anyone to "hate." Really? Sometimes comic book fans are confusing...

I'm not as into Christos Gage as I used to be but I still like his work. Union Jack was quite good, and Avengers Initiative has maintained its quality under his direction. I didn't really like his Thunderbolts one-shots, but I loved the return of Brother Nature and the parody of the Mary Jane laundry statue.
I think Gage, and Fred Van Lente, are in the Kurt Busiek/Roger Stern vein of writers. They give consistent, quality stories, and respect and reference old history and characters on a regular basis. They may not do crazy innovative Morrison or Ellis work, but they are dependable for enjoyable comics. (That sounds like damning with faint praise, but I am sincere:redface: )

I love the comic "War of Kings- Warriors".
Gladiator's origin suited his character totally. No wonder he makes samurai look like traitors.
