Quasar, far and away. A normal guy with the weight of Protecting the entire Universe dropped on his shoulders, trying his best to live up to impossible responsibilities. He accepts his role as a hero and constantly strives to live up to the standards set by those who came before him, while still staying human and a hell of a nice guy to boot. Go Wendell!

Warlock. He's cool-looking and a little bit insane. Lots of heroes talk about being willing to die to save the universe. Warlock's actually gone into the future and killed himself to do it. Can't top that.

Major Vance Astro of the Guardians of the Galaxy!
I first discovered this character in old issues of the Defenders when I was a kid, thumbing through the 3/$1 bin. I loved the fact that he was a man from today (whichever day today was) thrown centuries into the future and trapped there...except for when he came back to visit our time. I loved that he was trapped in his uniform and if he was to come out of it, he was so old that he would revert to dust almost instantly. And then when he came back to visit today, I loved that he could exist as an adult and a boy and that he was conflicted about wanting to reveal his history to the younger him so he would not end up in the same predicament, thus changing his history. At least that was the thought at that time. LOVE this character!

I like all these guys, and although Thanos is hands down my favorite cosmic character, I like Silver Surfer enough to not drive me to the dreaded other option

Firelord
Thanos
Galactus (as long as Greg Pak stays the hell away from him, hell, keep Pak away from all cosmic characters, especially if he's bringing a Hulk character along in the story)

Rocket Raccoon.
He was awesome before the WoK, but after WoK #3 Today... He is a legend.

I voted Adam Warlock because I've always found him... interesting. I like the Surfer, except for his sometimes monotone behavior.
I like alot of the cosmic characters in visuals and extreme powers.
Haven't really been too interested in picking up most current Cosmic events though, besides WoK: Ascension.

Adam Warlock, old school Jim Starlin that started in Strange Tales. I was actually buying them as they came out from the local LCS. It was cool and mystical/ trippy. I also liked Captain Marvel during this time too.

Captain Marvel I (Mar- Vell) - My favorite hero, period, of all time. The epitamy of a superhero. Warlock and Silver Surfer come close, but to me, they just can't compare. However, I like all cosmic characters, and would like to see them all make appearances.

Mind if I ask why?
In reference to the why I like the looks and powers of the cosmic characters, well, I was a kid once, and I liked colorful but highly powered characters most (Hulk for example). Add in the fact these characters were placed in outer space, fell in line with my young imagination where the sky was the limit. I'm older now, so I find the story more engaging moreso than the characters themselves. Even though I still enjoy the simplicity of costumes and extreme powers. But, that's not what, say, the main War of Kings storyline is about--such basic things. It's a big story that, for all intents and purposes, has not drawn me in. You know as much as I, the story ultimately is paramount for an ultimately engaging reading experience. It's not poorly written mind you, but WoK and other assorted cosmic story books out now, aren't grabbing me and not letting go.
As regards WoK: Ascension--it features Darkhawk, a character I found at least visually arresting in the nineties, but besides owning a trading card or two, I didn't own any book featuring Darkhawk. So, when Marvel decided to relase a WoK tie-in featuring Darkhawk--I had to buy it, although ultimately because the previews appealed to me.
The reason I keep picking it up, oddly enough, is due to the emphasis on the armors--and I wanna see what comes from from the Raptors aspect. So funnily, it's almost like I enjoy this tie-in like I would've when I liked certain comics as a youth (not that I'm ancient now). At least it has some pulling power on me, suprisingly. Usually, I feel I'd like something more complex and with depth, like War of Kings.

That's entirely fair enough.
Out of curiosity did you try either Annihilation?

Funny thing about Annihilation--particulary the second, I was gonna pick it up cuz it had the Surfer in it at first, but the whole event was something I passed on and haven't bothered picking up on since--for whatever the hell reason. :frown:
I keenly keep an eye out for any Cosmic story (and all types) since then if it looks interesting to me. Trust me. But it's all about a storyline hooking me in--character type be damned.

Well you missed out on something specially the first one.
I didnt know cosmic could be fun read before that.
Speaking about WoK i havent picked it up cause it doesnt have starring role for any of the cosmic characters in Nova,Guardians of the galaxy. Which i find to be very wierd.
Inhumans and Sh'iar or whatever they are called i didnt even see in the cosmic stories in recent cosmic marvel.

Well, before the first Annihilation, you didn't see any of these characters in starring roles in recent cosmic Marvel, cuz there hadn't been any in years. I think that is what is great about the cosmic Marvel stuff right now: they are building their playground. Deciding who should step up to the front and who the background players are. The Inhumans are clearly being elevated by this current story and I think Gladiator will come out of it a stronger character as well. We'll have to wait and see who else comes out looking strong that we might not have seen much of before. Nova and GotG are both involved, they just have smaller roles.

Have to go with Nova. Loved his book since #1 and haven't been disappointed yet. Galactus by John Byrne comes in a close second.

Oh... and I had to pick Adam Warlock.
Was very glad to get him back in Annihilation: Conquest.
But Starlord is a very close second! I've been working on a series of articles on him, just interviewed Chris Claremont, Tim Zahn and Rafael Marin for the next couple installments. Steve Englehart talked to me for part one:

Yeah, if I could have picked two, Starlord would be next.

The Silver Surfer was the first of Marvel's cosmic characters I got into and he's still my favourite by far. Captain Mar-vell is cool, and Adam Warlock is neat, but the Surfer is the best.

Vulcan and co i thought more of X-book type people. Inhumans being earth based too.
Thats why i was a bit surprised by the event premise. Plus there were many characters from the last two events in cosmic that you could give big roles in cosmic events.
I have to see what WoK is just because its cosmic and Nova,GotG roles.

I'm a big fan of many of Marvel's cosmic characters, especially Adam Warlock, Mar-Vell and Nova, but my favourite has always been the Silver Surfer.

Starlord, I loved all of the original B&W stories and own them all.
I was immensely pleased when he returned in the Thanos series and Annihilation.
Hopefully one day, he will meet up with his replacement and Ship. Maybe get his element gun back too.

I just put up a thread on this, but wanted to mention here, too, that my new spotlight article on Starlord just went up over at Cosmic Book News. I interviewed Chris Claremont about his contributions to the character, and then cover the Doug Moench Star-Lord stories:
http://cosmicbooknews.com/articles/starlord_part_2
Part three is coming soon, with insights from Timothy Zahn, Rafael Marin and Andy Schmidt.
What a great character!
