Starting from M-day, how would you be leading the X-Men, as well as the rest of the mutants, compared to Scott?

What would you do, exactly? Do you think could you or another character could do a better job?

Murder/suicide pact with Emma.

i think if storm hadn't been enslaved by that cretin, the black panther, she would have had the x-men under control a long time ago. of course, emma and storm settled their differences a long time ago, so emma would still be free to do what she please, but cyclops would have to get out if he couldn't handle storm's power.

If I were Cyclops, I would have led the X-men pretty much the same...Create a Black-Ops team...Move to San Fran...Be just a bit more militant with regards to how we deal with super-human threats against our species, and humans in general...(I quite ejoyed X-Men:SI from Scott's "General" stand-point.)
I would not have invited ALL mutants safe haven at the Marin Complex (there-by turning it into Westchester X-mansion 2.0)...I would have told Emma about X-Force from the beginning...becuase, she of all persons would understand the need for such a team and its relevance during these times...yes, he kept it secret for her protection, but since when has Emma Frost, a telepath of the highest order after Xavier and Jean, ever "needed" anyone's protection(and let's face it...one of the reasons why Emma accepted the invite to join the DR Cabal was simply because she knew Scott was hiding something from her...a two-can-play-at-that-game sort of thing). If they were both honest with each other the story would have gone in a much different (and more interesting, imo) direction...you would think he would have learnt his lesson about keeping secrets from those you love...stupid stupid stupid.

Aguja, you always make me LOL. Thanks for that!

In a nutshell: I wouldn't. Mutantkind is not for anyone to lead.

I would take a back seat and manage the administration of the school and led Cannonball lead the team

That would be a nice change of pace. There's far too much Cyclops/Wolverine slash out there.

This part I feel is completely believable. Most of humanity fails at learning from it's mistakes so it's actually rare to see a comic book super hero exhibit such a real humany quality.

I'd reclaim Genosha. I'd clean it up and make it habitable for powered an de-powered mutants. I'd form a non aggression treaty with Wakanda, Latveria and Atlantis and would offer aid and ask for assistance when needed. I would run it like any other country with a government, judicial system and military and yes, I'd have special ops teams.

Yup, yup. And have Dani join in. Seriously, I'd only change one thing and that's tell Emma about X-Force.

I never understood how Scott could be keeping secrets from Emma Frost. Has Cyclops been wearing some sort of psionic shielding device 24/7? It's not like Emma wouldn't be peaking.

I don't know why I bothered asking anyways It's not like the X-men wouldn't be wondering if she's been just mentally manipulating Scott and the others all along and just have killed her years ago and never let her on the team. Ya I should give up on trying to figure out X-books continuity to save my last shreds of sanity!

Sorry about the thread drift here.

I probably would too, honestly. Scott takes care of both mutantkind and the lovelife with Emma. Impressive, really.

It is shown how in UXM #504. Plus, Emma has more restraint about looking into his mind than everyone else's. She simply wouldn't go too deep without his permission.

See AXM #2 for that. It has a fun scene. Or AXM #1-24, actually.

The only thing I would do differently from what Scott is currently doing? Is to be honest and not hide certain things from certain members of the team. Even in a real life team you should not do that.. it usually will be a negative effect at some time.

I'd have formed the super-secret "kill people" team a long, long time ago.

And I'd also have formed a second team whose job it is to wait for all the dead bad guys who were killed by the first team to come back to life and then kill them again.

Do they have enough killing types? I know not all X-Men would kill easily?

I'd open a mutant sperm bank. Nothing preventing mutants from mating with humans and plenty of kinky people around. Hell, give a bonus $1000,- from Warren and Emma's accounts and the stuff would sell better than crack in recession stricken america.

Gotta start training them young, when they're more impressionable.

If someone had taken a firm hand with Cannonball as a youth, he'd be all, "Gawrsh, nobody can escape mah death grip when ah'm blastin!"

I like the joke, but it is very difficult to imagine Killer Cannonball!

If I was Cyclops I would have made an attempt to distance the students as much as possible. Because when the New X-Men get older your gonna have a generation of combat vets with so many emotional complexes half of them might just off themselves to save everyone the trouble.

I would go underground. Atempting to win the hearts and minds of humans has failed.I would have never reformed the X-men publicly instead kept them off the grid.

Safehouses and secret communications networks would be set up all over the world to help mutants and former mutants. Alliances with the other hidden races would be a priority and in a few years the X-men would be just another legend.

I'd immediately use every resource at my disposal to locate Magneto. Can't be too hard, a basically homeless Julian Keller managed it. I would then proceed to cut off his head and keep it and the body in two incredibly secure plexiglass cases in my office. Dude is nothing but trouble, powers or no.

I would take advantage of Storm's connections in Wakanda and relocated every mutant and former mutant there, for protection and overall better tolerance. With vast resources and world leading science innovation, I'd still have Beast form the X-Club. I'd then seek an alliance with the Inhumans, Eternals, and possibly even Namor. With a Wakanda/Mutant alliance, people like Doom, Stark, or Osborn would think twice with screwing with T'Challa or Scott.

And then after all the powered and depowered mutants are settled in:

I'd bang Emma all day and night long. Who cares about mutantkind?

Exactly
