Okay, the first half of my new tat is done! (Well, given that my guy is OCD, he may touch up here and there, when he does the second half.) The tree stretches across my mid-back; and behind it will be a very large red rose, partially obscured by the tree. I'm going back in a month or so to get the rose put in.
Anyway, here's the tree:

The tree photo is smaller than the actual tat---but I didn't want to stretch across the screen, so I down-sized it.
And since I promised to post pics of our other tats...
Here's my symbol (upper left chest):

Both the above were images that I either drew (symbol) or photo-manip'd (tree). I love 'em. He's so attentive to detail---on the symbol, he even got in the little divots in the lines that I'd put in. Given that it's actually a little smaller than the photograph, that's some fine work.
This last one was done by a different guy (my first tat). I've never been very happy with how dull and dark it is; my guy and I are looking at what I can do to replace it (cover) with a different pic... but here it is, anyway (upper left arm):

And here's Troy's tats:
His most recent, done by our guy---it's not a Simon game, it's a heraldic shield (upper right chest):

Troy's symbols (upper left chest):

These last two were done by different guys. First, Troy's blue dog; red symbol is "balance" alt. meaning is "peace" (right forearm, inside).

BTW, our guy Matt was kind enough to go back over the Red in this one to crisp out the edges and get good saturation, even though he didn't do the original work.
Last one is his Tribal Dolphin, upper left arm/shoulder:

The guy that did this one did my frst tat---Troy wants our current guy to rework it to sharpen and brighten. Our guy did the three groups of letters under the dolphin, btw---you can see the difference in the color saturation and crispness of detail, between the two different artists.

He does excellent work. Here's his page on the shop's website (he's at the Sandy Springs Psycho Tattoo II location---Matt Strasser):

My two favorites are the koi (seen from overhead, with water ripples) and the green lizard on the girl's foot---it looks REAL.
Wow, your tattoo artist really is talented! The tree looks amazing.

Basically, yep.
Right now it's looking a little dark, because I just got it done yesterday. He may have to touch it up to brighten it some, but it's hard to tell right now because there's still so much blood at the skin surface.

Wow. o_O
I'll have to check with him if I ever get one or both of the ones I've considered.. small celtic on my ring finger since half the time I can't wear my wedding band, and something else on my wrist.

Wow. That lizard is something else. Very realistic illusion of depth.
Very lovely!
Don't think you're off the hook. We're still waiting to see your Supergirl tat.

Yep. This guy is an *artist*. He's done some great work. All mine is him working with my art, but most of his stuff is his own creation. He's good with depth, detail, and color, and has won several awards. He's also a really *nice* guy.

*chuckles* I'm waiting to see your Supergirl, too.
And Rin---he'd be the one to do the work you want.

The artist I got it from does free touch ups, so I'll get what I can from her. After that.... Well, the Bay Area has a fine selection of artists.
I still adore my Wonder Woman, though. She's just what I wanted.... And a conversation starter for some of the awesomest women ever!

Nice!
(I was briefly confused by the thread as I thought you meant tat as in "junk"...)

The new tat is starting to brighten up---yay! Once it finishes, I'll post another pic for comparison.
