According to T.H.U.N.D.E.R. Agents #3, Dr. Anthony Dunn became NoMan at the age of 76.
Is there any other character who became a superhero at such an advanced age, without being an immortal or a member of an unusually long-lived species or something?

In Wonder Man's solo series, he started radiating "ionic energy", which had the side effect of giving various super-powers to members of his supporting cast. The supporting cast member formed a super-team called the Crazy 8. (http://www.comics.org/coverview.lasso?id=132574&zoom=4) Wonder Man's landlady was a member of the team under the name Glamour Girl. She was a senior citizen, but I don't think her exact age was mentioned.

Does Aunt May as Golden Oldie count? If not, what about that time she helped invade Doom's caslte in an old Ironman suit?

The Gargoyle was a WW I vet who sold his soul to save his dying town. He would have been in his 70s or 80s when this happened.

I always liked NoMan. One of very few truly orginal heroes, I think (and the only really original hero in the THUNDER Agents).

Centennial, from the shortlived reboot of Alpha Flight , developed his superpowers after being awoken from a coma at the age of 97.
