Those pages look amazing! Can't wait for this book. Seems like it's been on my pull list for awhile, so I'm looking forward to actually being able to read it soon.

Oh man, it looks so great. I can't Wait!! Only one week to go. Hurray!
I think Power Girl's window has passed. With the economy, fans are looking to cut back, not to increase the reading load. Wasn't people really excited 2 years ago when this was announced? How about now? Is there still momentum?
But who knows. With a good team, the names alone will draw a lot of interest.

Well I suppose time will tell. I know I'm still psyched about it, though.

I think the delay is certainly going to cause the book to take a hit. I remember that I was much more interested in this title when it was originally announced as opposed to now when, even though I'll still pick it up, I'm much more 'meh' about it.
Still, if it's good enough, enough people will buy it to keep it going for a while.

Seems like I've been waiting forever for this to come out. I'm still really excited however.

I wouldn't think so -- she's pretty slow, by her own admission.

Lets not worry about it yet!

Not really a DC guy. But I will purchase this. I am an Amanda Conner fan. Love her art.

Good lord -- did Adam Hughes draw that alternate cover? Makes PG look like Doris Day, which is not an image I want to contemplate.
For all his excellence at portraying beautiful women, I'm starting to think the guy has some sort of bizarre blind spot with the character. His depiction on the cover of JSA Classified #2 looked more like a portrait of Ellen DeGegeneres.

I got a BIG laugh at the wink-wink-nudge-nudge humor of the alternate cover. It's a good way to address the "boobs" issue with humor.
While at the same time a lot of clueless people won't SEE the humor in the shirt torn open Kent-to-Superman pose, with the almost Mighty Mouse-esque "I'm here" declaration, but with the boobs leading the way as the symbol. And we can laugh at THOSE people for not seeing the humor.

Thanks for the link. I was beginning to worry I was going to be tempted pick up the book, but this preview alleviates most all concern for that. *phew*

So, she's in an alternate world all of a sudden?
Same question I asked 2 years ago: what's the point?

She's still on New Earth. What makes you think it's an alternate world ?

No JSA, no JLA, she's in New York.
Aka; New Earth is not DC Earth-1.

PG has pretty much always lived in New York. Which is also home to jsa hq. PG dosent do everything with the jsa, these are her solo adventures.

I don't appreciate the change in Power Girl's boots. Wedge heels over her traditional block heels?
Disappointed.

Check out the thought box on the first page, it tells you right there; she's on a different Earth.

If you mean "different" as in "not New Earth", then you are misinterpreting it.
I AM assuming you don't really mean the first page, because there's no thought box there. If you mean page 2, all she's saying is that she "first landed on a parallel world similar to this one". In other words, she came to Earth-2 in a rocket and landed there. Then she says "there was a Crisis and somehow I wound up here". That's talking about her relocation to New Earth (from her current point of view the "original" stopover to Earth-1 may never have happened or may count as the same thing to her).

Exactly. All she's doing is basically recapping her time on pre-COIE Earth-2, then being folded into New Earth history, and that useless "Return to Earth-2" arc in JSA a while back ....

I was looking at the preview pages again...because no matter how much I'm not planning to read this book, I want to read a book about a super-powered, blond, software developer...and this is the closest to such a thing...and I am a weak, sniveling fanboy. *sigh* Anyway, I was looking at the preview pages again, and I'm curious: how many fresh starts for Power Girl have their been since Crisis? You'd think for someone whose major complaint is that she has no ties, the best way to start a book would be to show her making those ties.
Maybe spend those first two pages with her interviewing a new personal assistant, hear the robots, and have to leave. That would at least establish she's already started building her life.
I get the feeling...and this is the main reason I'm avoiding this book...this book is mostly going to be Peej hitting things and whining about her lack of a life, as opposed to a book about Peej's life and how the world of capes kind of screws it up, which if played as a comedy...dare I say romantic comedy...would be great. Something of a cross between Shortpacked and Empowered, with Power Girl being a Glasso-Elissa hybrid who's no nonsense business manager herding a bunch of odd ball employees, who grow into the roles of friends and family and finally give her the (relatively) normal life she wants.
That's the book I want to read, but based on these preview pages and the solicits for the first three issues, I get the impression that's probably not going to come to pass, and instead we'll get...the same, boring Peej who's bored me to tears ever since she "was never a wiz with computers," and seems like the perfect metaphor for the current DC business model: "Why be interesting when you can talk about how cool things were in yonder times?"
If I'm wrong, great, I'll get the back issues off eBay and the trades off Amazon, but...who thinks I'm wrong? Really, who thinks I'm wrong? I seriously am asking. And if my tone comes across as anything but bitterly disappointed that the preview pages didn't excite me, I apologize, but if I'm missing some bit of rumor that contradicts my conjecture, I'll be glad to hear it.

Hmm I didn't know this book was finally out. I read somewhere last year at plans for a PeeGee series. Jimmy and Justin at the helm. I'll give this a try. I liked their H4H. Let's see what they can do with PeeGee.
That's why I'm buying it.
...I thoroughly enjoyed the frack out of the first issue, but I did feel it was right to send a Tweet to Jimmy and Amanda, challenging them to do at least one issue completely devoid of boob jokes. Jimmy wasn't sure, but he thinks that's issue #2.
Which means the other 11 of my fellow 12 Internet Trolls will be complaining about them running out of boob jokes too early...

Nahh, folks will more likely be complaining that they've already run out of plot...
Honestly, snowglobes? That was rather weak.

I appreciate the boob jokes mostly because they are turning the criticisms of Powergirl on its er... side. Front? Whatever.
I think... ONE boob joke per issue ought to do it though.

I enjoyed the book overall, but that narration was unbelievably long. I never knew that PG was so much of a talker (at least in her head). Hoo boy!
That art was pretty nice though!
My review:

love art by Amanda! The book was great.
I got the cover with her art rather than the, 'superboobs' one.

Ehn, I was a bit underwhelmed by #1. Which is a worry considering the absolute volume of new (and great looking) books DC are coming out with in the next 3 months. I'm really concerned this title could get lost in the crunch - I know I'm only giving it 3 issues to impress me at this stage... :frown:
