Whereas Hatcher was going to work everyday in some sort of "sexy" business attire.

Were we watching the same show? Lois on L&C always wore conservative attire, whereas Erica's clothing seems very 'trendy' and glossy. Or it could just be the 90s.

Durance is not attractive if you ask me.

Things about her that throw me off:

- She has a very masculine chin, with the dimple and all.
- Her jaw-line is pretty wide and angular, which is a masculine feature.
- She has a wide mouth, and when she smiles she looks 40.

Could you please post a picture of your woman, just to compare. :biggrin:

That's why I put quotes around "sexy". It's a matter of opinion what's "sexy" but back when LOIS AND CLARK was being shot a lot of attention was paid to the wardrobe Lois, Clark and the cast wore. They were going for a classy/chic/sexy type thing. SMALLVILLE goes for a completely different vibe. Anytime you see old pics or shows of L&C the clothes jump out at you. On SMALLVILE the colors are dark and muted and don't look like designer duds.

That's just okay for me, because, as you said, they are different vibes for each show. I think the vibes that they have gone for with each show definitely work within the context of the show. There's no doubt that both of these women are stunning and beautiful.

Someone had commented that Erica Durance's Lois used to wear jeans all the time and basically wasn't given the chance to show off her sexiness. Well, I must admit, besides the photo of her in the orange dress back on the first page of this thread, I think the most gorgeous she has looked has been when she had jeans and a white button-down blouse. It was in one of the recent episodes of Smallville. She looked simple, but sexy and gorgeous. Don't get me wrong, I'm a huge fan of both actresses and I think a lot of it has to do with the connection you have with the character and show, but I think Erica wins the battle by a landslide. And I think she's getting even better looking as the episodes go by. Again, I think it may be because I feel strongly about the whole TV show and her character.

Erica can't act? Tell that to the millions of Superman fans that believe she's doing Lois Lane's character justice. I can understand people not seeing her as being overly hot, but saying she can't act is absurd. All of the women to have been in the role have been great and done it justice, excluding Kate Bosworth's one note and forgettable performance.

I don't know about Superman fans in general, but its seems like many Smallville fans seem to hate her. At least, the Chloe fans anyway. Who just so happen to be heartbroken because for some reason, Chloe didn't turn into another person (http://forums.televisionwithoutpity.com/index.php?showtopic=3132457). Gee, I wonder why that could be.

Erica has good comedic timing, but she's just okay with the more serious scenes from the ones I saw. There weren't any real serious scenes that Teri was involved with in her show, not that I can recall.

Errm, you pretty much answered the guy's question with your own. I wasn't even going to bother commenting on this thread again, but seeing as how my post's being discussed...

"Hatcher has really no class" - I've seen some nutty statements before but a fanboy making some sort of crank comment about a famous celebrity that the poster knows absolutely zip about her personal life (and level of 'class')? That just takes the cake.

Hatcher or Durance? I could not care less who other people prefer out of the two. That's called personal choice. Making a completely uninformed comment about someone they don't even know in real life? That's what I call completely lacking in class.

A year or two ago I saw her on some American Idol appearance where she looked frightening. At the time I figured, "Oops! Out of makeup!"

But oddly enough I saw a picture of her more recently out of makeup and she looked... really good.

I disagree completely. Teri is still very, very attractive now, so I see no harm in comparing her to Erica. Margot Kidder, on the other hand, seemed to just let herself go and stop caring about how she looked.

I think you're highly mistaken. There are many women in this world that are that age and are still incredibly beautiful. It doesn't take plastic surgery for an actress to look beautiful, don't be foolish. And Kidder let herself go years ago. She looked decent when she appeared on Smallville but she hasn't looked as good as she did when she was in the Superman films in years.

I can think of two notable actors that Didn't get Plastic surgery; Lynda Carter and Robert Redford. They both look very wrinkled and older. Not a knock on them , just it's part of the "game" that people in the entertainment industry get surgery.

I'd still take Lynda Carter over, for example, post-surgery Meg Ryan...

Lynda Carter was on tv a few months ago promoting her album/CD and actually looked really good. She's older but doesn't look "very wrinkled" at all. There's a video of her appearance on Joy Beyhar(SP) on youtube. She lloks surprisingly good.

It could be the hair. Its just so Lois Lane. (When Teri first auditioned for Lois she had long hair and was told she looked too sexy, so she cut it). She has a more adult, classy look while Smallville's Lois still seems rather immature. They've got the spunky part down but I've never really gotten the impression that she was intelligent.

In response to posts on the last page, I didn't think anyone still gave a damn about Olivia Munn. She's so annoying & tries so hard to be funny but always fails. Yes, she's hot, but she's annoying. It'd be a feat all in itself just to get through one night with her. She strikes me as one of those girls that talks more than they should during sex.

The thread was meant to be a comparison in general, not only because they portrayed Lois Lane. I think Hatcher looks good enough now to be compared to Durance. While I largely prefer Durance, Hatcher does still look stunning, imo.

That's the most ridiculous and extreme comparison about two hot women I've come across in a long time. It's Terri "Hot as Heat Vision" Hatcher or Erica "D!!!ck Her Down till Doomsday" Durance.

Funny you mention that - I'm a little behind the times on Smallville and currently making my way through Season 4. And I had to LOL when I saw the episode about the ugly girl who somehow turned herself into a hottie over the holidays or something (with the help of her surgeon mother), and Chloe made a comment to Lois insinuating that she must have had 'artificial assistance' in certain areas. Considering Erica was standing there with her own 'bolt-ons' thrust out, I suddenly felt very embarrassed and uncomfortable for the poor girl... :biggrin:

I was actually pretty surprised the writers/directors/producers would have been so dumb to arrange for the scene to be filmed that way. :confused:

Durance is pretty amazing, but i gotta go with Teri hatcher. def one of the hottest women of all time from Seinfeld to tango and Cash to The Cool Surface and Heavens Prisoners (she's naked in those). Now that girl who played Lana Lang in Smallville is def hotter than any other version of that character and Annete Otool is the hottest Ma Kent. Another question: Halle Berry or Michele Pheifer? Gotta go with Michele!

I think they are both hot and I cant decide between the two. And I like both versions of the character too. As for Durance's skimpy outfits, I am pretty sure the show writers or producers have more to do with that to bring in the audience. After all, this is meant to be targeted towards to younger adults and teens. So not far blaming Durance 100 % on the choice of outfit. Plus artificial enhancement is more common these days and more accepted than it was 15 years ago. As more women in the field (acting/modelling, etc) are getting their "parts" enhanced, the competition is higher on getting jobs so more women are doing it to keep up.

Both women were at their prime at completely different time periods and society has changed. Hatcher herself might have considered implants if she is starting out now. Of course dunno if she already has any.

I like them both and both are the reason I watch their respective "Superman" shows.

I know its not her fault or choice, but its getting predictable at this point. She's a talented enough actress to not have to draw in more viewers by wearing fetish outfits every other week. Teri in her prime was hotter but Erica has a really good body for pulling off a comic book characters. When she was in that Silver Banshee get up it was picture perfect.

Overall I'd say Teri but I like Erica too. Still Tess Mercer AKA Cassidy Freeman is the main reason I watch nowadays. I like her more than Erica. <3

While I loved Teri in Tango and Cash and agree she is pretty hot I just don't think she has the body to compare with Erica. Granted plenty of Erica is fake the question is not who is naturally hotter, just who's hotter.

I've been wondering lately that if Erica's breasts are actually fake, when she'll actually admit it. Chances are they are fake, as someone well over 21 years old rarely goes from an A or B cup to about a D cup, so yeah, she should stop shitting us.

I don't know if she's ever denied it, especially given she did a nude scene in House of the Dead which makes it pretty clear she's had work done.

But one refreshing thing about Smallville is that it's an equal opportunity exploiter. Tom Welling was naked constantly the first few seasons, almost every major character had a shower scene including Lionel Luthor and now Justin Hartley is shirtless in the opening credits! That catering truck must be a low fat, health food nightmare.
