He seems to be all over the place and for some strange reason he keeps changing in appearance. For an example of this just check out his Punisher War Journal, Deadpool, and Hulk appearances.

Either editor's can't seem to get the character straight or he goes back and forth in his transformations.

There's nothing strange about the Hulk appearance; Hulk can't be bothered with minor nuisances like established continuity.

He's mutated through the years.

I believe the version in Hulk was pulled from the past.

in the secret invasion deadpool he is part shark with real fins and stuff connected. but in mighty avengers around the same time he was a guy in a suit with some sharp teeth. i agree, they must have goofed or not cared or something

His powers have mutated and turned him into a much more beastly creature. He takes specially created pills at regular intervells to maintain a more human form.

Actually, I made all that up, but it sounds good, doesn't it?

My money is on "not cared". Marvel treats continuity, and I'm not talking the "thirty years of minutiae" kind of minutiae but just general keeping track of things, like it's some sort of plague.

When he was first indroduced he was a great chracter, sorta the anti-Submariner, but writer's after Thomas never realy got him down or underutilised him.

Outside of his apperance's in the Hulk and Wolverine only Harras seemed to give a good interpretation of him when he out him with Tamara and made him more heroic.

His mutation fluctuates - sometimes he's more human, sometimes not. About all there is to it.

I like the version in Loeb/McGuinness's Hulk. I'd be afraid to go into the water with him around.

Since the heroes in Hulk have been pulled from various points in time, one could argue that Tiger Shark could've been pulled from a different period as well.

SO not true, my good friend!
Check out John Byrne's run on Wolverine- Tiger Shark damn near kills him- the only time I've ever read Wolverine panic and be truly scared- TS gets him in the water (where Logan's slow as a brick due to that skeleton) and practicly drowns him.
A great read and a great depiction of bth characters.
