Hey did anyone get this? either as singles or the trade?
I'm thinking of getting the trade.

The previews look absolutely fantastic!

I ***LOVE*** Christian Ward's art, I've been downloading every pic I can from his website.

And the story seems pretty cool too.

I can't believe there isn't any buzz about it ?!?

Its done... The hype was around it when it came out. Nate has put out The Light and is now releasing Who Is Jake Ellis.

But definately pick up Olympus... the story is great. I wasnt a fan of the art... but I still loved that book.

Sooo soorrry it took me so long to update this thread (I got super busy)!! In a nutshell: I got the trade, read it, reread it, reread it... loved it! Brief review:

Writer: Nathan Edmonson: great story, careful, deliberate, and interesting selection of greek mythological characters and events, with an intelligent interpretation and application of myth. picking the gemini as protagonists was inspired, in a "why had no one done that before" way! speaking of which, fantastic characters, loved the distinct characterization and dialogue for every character. I really want to see Cassie and Pollux and Didi (and Hermes) return- sequel please.
(P.S. And how can you go wrong setting a story in London and Paris? ;)

Artist: Christian Ward: the art was fantastic. Color me a huge fan of Christian's art (i went and downloaded a lot of pics off his website and made a theme for my computer. I love his contour-lined mixed-media watercolor-digital-pastels with little clouds and stars accents. It is almost psychedelic, almost impressionistic in a sketchy kind of way. And it was a perfect match to the story. There is so much going on in each panel, I love analyzing all the details, color blends and overlaps, this book probably took me twice or three times as usual to read because of the mesmerizing art.

The collection: Very nice, clean crisp print, glossy paper, overall a very nice trade to have. My only (small) criticism with Olympus was related to the collection: it was slightly incomplete. Most notable was the absence of the promotional poster. It definitely should have been included, as it was unique story and art. Also, only about half of the variant cover art was reprinted. They only left out about 5 or 6 variant covers, so I can't see that this was done to save costs.

Overall, Olympus was a super fun read. Well written and superbly illustrated. In my top three fave mythological comics (the other two being Sandman by Gaiman and various, and Knights of Pendragon (first series, #1-18) by Abnett Tomlinson and Erskine, Marvel UK).

    I'd give it a fifth smiley but the admin won't allow.
