This book is really starting to come together now !
Most of the issue is spent with Geo-force,Black Lightening and Owlman fighting a giant robot who captured Katanna last issue and then after they rescue her it self destructs.
Most of this seems to do with the "insider" naked cult wanting a similar meteorite to the one that transformed Metamorpho (it seems to save them from dying) there is some really great character moment with him explaining the rock and why he knows so much about meteorites.
I hope i didn't spoil anything too much there is a great cliffhanger at the end.
The art is nice and works great although i don't really know why this weird cult is running around completely naked all the time... i hope there's an explanation besides just wanting hot naked chicks.

Loved seeing deathstroke, vandal savage and talia al ghul all in one issue.
I said it once, I say it again. Tomasi is gold.

So the naked lady was Talia?
No, Talia is the one who located deathstroke on the last two pages.
she is clearly there to do her dad's bidding.
ra's =immortal kinda stories? This makes sense.

ra's =immortal kinda stories? This makes sense.I thought the lady who went to Deathstroke's house was the same one who was the naked cult lady who was burning her hair in the candle?
Who was the teenager answering his door? it didn't look like his daughter from the Teen Titans have we seen her before?
And yes that all does make sense.

Poppy was introduced in the faces of evil deathstroke special.
he is sort or good/bad again a la captain cold. he rescued her from the street as his own girl rose doesn't want anything to do with him now.

looks like it.
Cain's plans are undone by Renee Montoya, who manages to steal the Spear and reunite the Spectre with his host. The Spectre, forbidden by God to kill Cain, instead sentences him to walk the Earth, unable to disguise himself, being forever reviled and persecuted by the rest of the human race.

Cain has to walk the earth kinda funny in a certain context.
I thought he was left without the spear but I am no sure. Well he has it now at any rate.
I am not sure Deathstroke wanted his kids to have anything to do with him, but that seems to flip flop now and then.

(looks around nervously)
I picked this book up to replace Nightwing because I liked Tomasi's writing style & I have been enjoying it very much. I also like the art style. I do wish Alfred would be in the book a bit more.

I passed this issue up, after skimming through it on the stands. Actually plan to drop it mid-arc. I enjoyed the Alfred bits in the Special, but Alfred is obviously not going to be a major player here.
These characters simply don't hold my interest without Batman. I actually liked Winick's team better than this. And the storyline (which has seemed pretty drawn out) has failed to capture my interest.

I wonder what will happen to the book once Batman comes back.

Immortals huh? Slade's immortal, so's Ra's and Savage. Hmm, this would be an awesome time to bring back the Resurrection Man to stick it to Savage.

Gee, I started picking up this book (even going back and getting the Special and beginnings of this arc) specifically because of this team. If it weren't for this line up, I'd have no interest in this book at all because, to me, this is the line-up who are the Outsiders. Now, I just wonder where Looker is.

she was in it a few issues back I think it might have been the last issue to feature Batman actively on the team.

I actually LOVE this cast, especially Owl Man and the Creeper, and both writer and artist are doing great work. Its helping me enjoy this book despite what appear to be really terrible villains and a muddled mission for the team.

it is finding its way but it has avoided the trainwreck I thought it was headed for. It needs to get better but I can see that happening if not with this villian the next.

This book is holding my interest. I own the complete run og the original BATO by Mike W. Barr and the last, great Jim Aparo. Love this cast, especially with te Creeper and Owlman adding to it. It would be nice if artists learned how to draw Geo-Force's costume though. Aparo made such simple colours look dynamic.
Damn I miss Aparo's work. :frown:
