Since its been almost a year since I've posted here I figured I'd post the sketches I've gotten since then. And I promise not to fall off the face of the earth again.
Heroescon 08, Tony Harris!!
I've always tried to spread the word of Starman, so this one means a lot to me.

Megacon 09, Humberto Ramos.
I miss this Bart. :frown:

And now FX!!
Everyone here should know this gentleman...both the artist and the subject!!

Andy Kuhn and Rex Mantooth...if you don't know Rex, order the book.

Joel Carroll and Mother F'n Shortround. I should start a sketchbook of just Shortround.

I believe someone on here (the Hellboard), once advised to have Con sketches be made into a sketchbook, rather than on loose paper. So that over time the number of sketches (preferably themed) would grow, for artists to flip through - before adding their piece. And that in such, an artist might get inspired better.
I believe Ken O possesss at least one prime example of a sketchbook like that!
Great theme too .

The sketchbook works in your favor in a number or ways. The artists knows their hard work isn't going to end up on ebay in a couple days and sometimes they want to one up the page infront of theirs.

Certainly.
Still taking my time with finding me a decent one 'though. Since any Con activity 'round here isn't frantic of frequency and since it's mostly artists I seem to have bonded with somewhat (like Barry Kitson). So, for their own limited sketchbook editions additions (reads problematic), they know where to find me.
EDIT: didn't quite catch the one-upping bit (like Super Mario?)
EDIT vol 2: I sometimes suspect to be reading wrong, Ken O. Yet I bet you made sense, before even extra-explaining (thx) - I get it now: 'topping it', 'to perfect'. And I see how such is working for your sketchbooks!!

Let me try to explain what I meant. Usually if there is a really good sketch on the page before the one the new artist is working on, they want to try to do a better sketch then the one before them. Hopefully that made more sense.

Very nice collection there, I'm jealous.

That's why, whenever I get an autograph, I make sure it says "To Catlin." After I specifically ask for that, the person signing usually lightens up drastically and we end up chatting, as he or she knows I'm really a fan.

Yes, I always prefer personalization too.
Upon my first artist asking: "Do you want it personalized?" I was like 'Try and stop me, respectively'... You know. Stuff made out to me is the icing.
And sold it won't be - only originals which I didn't get to buy off an artist personally might I sell. From over here, buying off some artists - - seems not always easy.

As someone who has benefited from your efforts to spread that word I can only imagine how much this sketch must mean to you. You must be thrilled!
Those are all wonderful additions to your collection and I still love the theme. Yay to the Francesco drawing, too!
