Sometime last year someone on the board said their parents or some other kinsfolk lived near to where St. Leonard's lilies grow.
And this someone said when they visit their somethings at sometime in the future when those lilies bloom, they would pick some for members of the board that were interested in having a lily.
I was thinking about the nature of the beast the other day, and remembered this...
Does this sound somewhat familiar to anyone?
If it's still gonna happen, I'm mighty interested

Yes, I recall such. And - after much getting-stoked-for-such-ness and some contemplation invoked by experienced nature-enthusiasts - the person was rather strongly advised to not try and send plant life through the mail inter-continentally.
Mostly due to postal legislation, such could get messy. The picking or collecting would also likely cause trouble.
So yeah. Lilies grown from maryrdom seem rare as ever...

That's really unfortunate, as I was really looking forward to it ...
I wonder if there would be a problem shipping flora internationally if it was dried and flattened...

I remember this and I think the issue was bringing an alien flora into a different environment. Lillies can spread if kept healthy and sometimes they can be very evasive. The main question was disturbing floral balance. Yes too bad because I have many types of local lillies throughout our backyard and it would have been interesting to see if they would have taken root.

I would love to see some pictures of these lilies in their natural habitat.

I don't think they'll let them in even if they are dried because little seeds or things like eggs of pests could still be on them. Its sucks though. That would be really cool to hake a Leonard's lily. That's one of my favorite Hellboy stories.
