That Madame Xandu sounds awesome. She looks creepy on the cover, but the design by Kaluta is great.

Stupid Copywriter Tricks, Vol. 847:
Throughout the decades, death has plagued the DC Universe and taken the lives of heroes and villains alike. But to what end?
Uh, there is no end*. It's death. It just happens.
*"End" in this context meaning "purpose."

So...wait. Does the July issue of teen Titans mean Oracle doesn't defeat Calculator over in her mini-series?

Maybe she won the prize, and not the battle or war?
This is comics baby!

I don't understand why on Wednesdays comics its says, • 1-4 of 12 • 7” x 10”, 16 pg,
I know its going to be a newspaper style format, but why is it saying 7x10 ?
Kreisberg is writing both of the GA/BC features? But he absolutely doesn't get Black Canary at all!
As a follow up, thank god for the Wonder Woman solicit.
The JLA resolicitation seems weird (and makes me wonder what is going on with JLA 34.)
It look like Brave and the Bold is being used to continue the introduction of the Milestone heros (much like it was earlier being set up as an intro for the Archie heroes.) Icon/Superman next month?

The 14 x 20 comes folded in quarter to make 7 x 10, which is how it will fit on the shelf.

Is Keith Giffen the new writer on Booster Gold or is it just a fill in arc?
And while the price for Wednesday Comics could be better, it is a limited series and you get quite a lot of bang for your buck - each of the 16 pages are quadruple sized are they not? Also, it looks way too awesome not to try out.

Good Blackest Night stuff. The rest? DC is pretty boring right now. Not liking the Superman or Batman directions, but we'll see if Batman ends up good or not.

Really? It's actually the reason why I'm picking this up. I was willing to pay up to $5 when this was announced(I think I may have posted $7 when I was on a DC high), so $4 is even better. But actualy, now that I think about it, that's $16 for one series per month! Crazy!
Damn you, DC, and your skillful money lures!

So I'll be getting:
Batman and Robin 2
Green Lantern Corps 38
Justice League: Cry For Justice 1
Batman 688
Green Lantern
Wednesday Comics
Blackest Night
Blackest Night Tales of the Corps
Detective Comics 855
And just to see what it was like in monthly format:
Green Lantern Rebirth 1 Special Ed.
Y: The Last Man 1 Special Ed.
All-Star Superman 1 Special Ed.
Tom Strong 1 Special Ed.
And possibly:
Red Robin 2, if I like the first issue.
Still, this is only a little more than a third of what I buy Marvel!! Not looking forward to adding it all up!

4 $ for 16 series for 12 months = 48$
48$ / 16 = 3$ per story. It's as much as a regular comic but it's oversized and by the best talents.

I will again be buying no DC comics in July, except Astro City, which I've been reading since before it became a DC comic.

I could've sworn I read something (or, probably more accurately, strung together bits of information) about Superman being forced to go on trial on New Krypton for treason with a possible death sentence as the outcome. I bet that would necessetate a crossover. lol

DC in July looks like THE place to be.
I'm so excited for Blackest Night.
While I'm excited about the hefty amount of new product in general for July, that is the one thing I'm not at all interested in.
The JSA mini looks hot! Those cowritten Checkmate issues and the Kobra one shot were divine.
Detective is a winning hand, as well as the new Dini Gotham book complete with Manhunter backup!
Robinson's new Justice League.....
the Brave and The Bold (cartoon) series has had several great guest stars and has employed two of my fave writers thus far!
and so on!
But I am ever so "Over" the mega-crossovers and their taint of all other creativity in the process. "Sorry, no dealing with the Mid-East situation or the comic effect sideline; we have to incorporate super-zombies. Yeah, it's been done a half-dozen times. But GOD himself is righting--oops, I mean "writing"--this one!"
Oh well..
