After having checked out last ish (and not liking it very much), I figured I'd check out this ish - or at least, the preview. Besides, art by Rags Morales (my main draw to last issue was its artist, Shane Davis) so it's not all bad.
And I have to admit.....while a lot of last issue's dialogue did not work for me at all, I kinda like the banter in this issue so far. Perhaps now McDuffie is finally really settling in with the team - he's gotten the Meltzer "leftovers" out of the way and is doing his own thing now...
And as expected, it sure looks good to boot.

Okay, am I alone in thinking Dinah is being a pointlessly petty b*tch here? The Justice League isn't some sort of social club... It's the First and Last line of Defense against world-spanning threats. While it's shut down and restricted, what's going to happen when some new cosmic invader turns up?
Well, that's it. I'm dropping this book. I can stand losing the Morrison League, but this kind of idiocy isn't what I look for in JLA.

Atom hasn't been a team member in.......a long time, right? He's part of Robinson's team (as is Supergirl and a few others not shown here) but not this one.

Nice preview here. The League however needs someone to make it POP . To add some sizzle. I mean lets look at this team.
Firestorm (I'll trust McDuffie to make sense of all his character changes)
Green Lantern : John Stewart
Zatanna
Dr.Light
Vixen
Black Canary
The League ....JSA or JLA need the Hawkman & Hawkgirl characters. I really wish Hawkman was in JLA. I mean the guys a f-ckin immortal warrior who isn't afraid to die !

You know, I've enjoyed McDuffie's time on Justice League of America on the whole. It hasn't been out of this world, but I tend to look forward to it more than most of DC's titles shipping each month. Right now the team is in a state of flux, so I find myself anticipating the book less than usual, and yet it's still going to be on the top of my read list this week.

Dwayne said on the official DC boards that he would like to have Hawkman on the team, but he's off-limits at the moment. Sturges basically said the same thing with regards to Justice Society over on the ComicBloc forums. I actually talked to DiDio at Mega Con about Hawkman, and he implied that he and Hawkgirl would be featured prominently in Blackest Night #1, assuring me that it would finally address the implications of Starlin's Hawkman Special from last year, a fact I was gladdened to hear. Although, he also indicated to me (twice) that I might not be very happy after reading the issue, and I've been antsy for its release ever since.

I'd buy the book with just those teams. Plus Hawkman, why not?

Yes. What she's acting like is a child, which is perfectly in line with the adolescent posturing being demonstrated by Hal and her own friggin' husband.
I haven't seen such a mass violation of characters to achieve a "stunt" end since Identity Crisis. This is not how these three would ever behave! Is it now out of continuity that there was once a JLA with Hal, Ollie and Dinah that this isn't the stupidest development ever!?! This reads like someone who's never heard of these characters before to think they'd act this way.
I get the feeling this is all being done to accommodate Robinson's JLA series and after his horrendous work on Superman, I'm getting the sad impression that Starman and The Golden Age were flukes and this kind of character violating work is his norm.
