What if Marvel & DC decided to permenately trade
some of their Green Arrow & Hawkeye characters
with each other?

What would happen if after the Crisis on Infinite
Earths maxi-series, DC & Marvel announces that
they'll trade their two comic book characters with each
other and it actually came to pass after the announcement?

What if Hawkeye starred in his first ever DC comic
series after he's traded off and what would happen
if Mockingbird got traded for Black Canary?

What if Mark Gruenwald created a limited series reinventing Green Arrow's
origin, adventures, supporting cast and all that for Marvel?

What would happen if Hawkeye and Mockingbird didn't remember
the Marvel Universe anymore after they're integrated
into the Post-Crisis DC Universe and what would happen
if it's the same with the Green Arrow characters who are
now integrated in the Marvel Universe?

How would the GA characters effect the Marvel Universe?

How would the Hawkeye characters effect the Post-Crisis DC Universe?

How would DC & Marvel fans react if this actually took place?

Not sure, but you're on to something really interesting here. Forget your standard crossovers. What if comic book companies traded characters like sports teams trade players? Not permanently, though. Just periodic loans for set amounts of time, say one year max. Let's see what Marvel would do with Batman and DC with Spider-man, for example. There would have to be rules of respect and proper treatment of characters, of course.

You can see how hawkeye would be in the JLA in the JLA/Avengers issue 3 when the DC/Marvel universe merged and Hawkeye joined the JLA.

I can see Clint Barton (Hawkeye)'s origin being different in the Post-COIE
DCU than the Marvel U one.

Clint Barton would see Batman in action, and was inspired by him to be
a hero and dressed up as a costumed crime fighter named Hawkeye.

However, there is a misunderstanding on Hawkeye's first outing and he
is assumed of being a bad guy. He would've either met Batman first and
duke it out with the Dark Knight (only to fail in the end) while he's trying
to convince Batman that he's not a thief or he would've met Talia al Ghul
(or Catwoman), whom he falls in love with, and she would manipulate
him to do some illegal activities for her.

Maybe after a battle with Batman, some person would've gotten injured
and Hawkeye helps that person in order to get him to the hospital.
Batman would've probably gone with them to help too and afterwards
told Hawkeye that if he ever sees him again he'll bring him down
(or he'll say something like that, I guess).

Sometime later, Hawkeye would've later offer himself for Justice League
membership either during Aquaman's tenure as leader of the Justice
League of America or when the JLofA just became the Justice
League (and later on, Justice League Intenational).

More to come later.
