oh, it looks like Psylocke survived after all.
I also spot Surge, Sunspot, Dagger, Dazzler, Pixie, Nightcrawler, Colossus, Storm, Warpath, Beast, Scott and Emma.
The Red Queen is obviously Jean and not Maddy.

Looks like Pixie found her way back from Limbo and has recovered enough to perform with Dazzler.
I don't think the Red Queen is Jean. But it would be a twist is it were. I still think shes Hope.

Spotting them is easy. having them acually do something is the tricky part.
I wonder if this happens before or after Surge's abduction.

I also don't believe the Red Queen is Jean. I think that since she is magickally driven, she is just the manifestation of the "Goblin Queen" aspect of Maddie. The rest, or good parts of Maddie, are not there.
I'm interested in what's going to happen with Psylocke. I also wonder if it's supposed to be Kavita Rao on the cover to 512 and not Psylocke.

WHERE is the continuity ?
I mean, Pixie just skipped out on the rest of the X-crew in Limbo....ditched to have herself a good cry and whatever....so what...she just came home and nobody addresses it?
And....by the look of the 'action' scene....the Illusion-Bitches are making the XHQ look like a dungeon. And separating various X-ers with 'walls'.
OOooooooh.
And HEY...whats up with Surge? She's all kidnapped !

With Namor being Emma's Pick...
It might make sense that he's Norman's eyes on the team to make sure the team is doing what he wants them to do. Xavier seems more like a wild card as he is one of the most powerful telepaths in the world, one of the most skilled telepaths and former member of the Illuminati. It makes sense in that he is the one working for mutant/human co-existence, but he knows things and can learn things which can be used against Osborn.
Thoughts?

MY MISTAKE....
After further scrutiny of Mr.Land's illustrations, I've come to the conclusion that the "Pixie Fight Scene" takes place in the DANGER ROOM.
It would appear that Pixie is fighting a computer generated opponent resembling that of a Hellfire Cult member....and she appears to be going a little too far as observed by Beast and Wolverine.
Again: My apologies. I got too excited. This is clearly POST Infernus.
Although I don't anticipate any Illyana, and I'm okay with it.
I choose to believe a little Rasputin sibling catch up time takes place off panel.
Still doesn't explain Surge though.

Isn't Chimera supposed to be dead? I like how the characters look but I haven't read an X-book in years. I was considering following this story for a few seconds until I read the article. I must admit it does seem like this will just make things more confusing continuity wise.

I'm guessing there is a considerable amount of "catch up" to be had.
I believe Fraction MIGHT be doing a recap of sorts of the most recent X activity condensed into a few pages.
The concert scene for example: illustrating Pixie's previous activities (pre infernus) and then showing Nightcrawler perched by himself....possibly to show his feelings of inadequacy, alienating himself from the group. Emma's attempts to continue tutelage and of course, Scotts reinforcement of positive mutant P.R. by having various X-ers smack down on the Cali-crime-scene.
Of course, this is al speculation, given there isn't any text to go by.
I'm possibly reading too much into things.

Apparently Colossus is too busy getting ready to fight Mel Gibson in the Thunderdome to talk to his sister!
The whole sequence smacks of a post fight montage (like at the end of a particularly dragging everyone through the ringer episode of Buffy. It probably will have a Fray song playing in the background. Scott or Emma will probably do some talk over stuff that leads into Dark X-Men.

Anyone suppose that VERY brief shot of Surge MIGHT depict her capture.
Again, all speculation here but, I'm a bit fuzzy as to what is happening in that scene.
She's running and then.....everything gets all blurry and she looks surprised maybe? Maybe that scene explains her having been drugged and taken captive?
Maybe?
I'm grasping at straws now, aren't I ?

#1 No one cares about x-anus and where it fits into "continuity."
#2 Maddie was eaten by the Red Queen ages ago. Red Queen is the alternate reality Jean Grey (the Dark Phoenix who was killed in 127).
#3 They took Psylocke's rat infested dead body and moved a tramp psi into it just to show that Maddie can do the same with Jean's body and claim it (and all its power) for her own.
Jean Grey sucks, ergo this story sucks for making reference to her.

They can make Psylocke able to change between her ninja-Kwannon and Original-british bodies back and forth, so she can hook up with evil Archangel when ninja and with Warren when british... She could store the unused body in the refrigerator.
That would be so corny that I would love it !

So, the plan here is resurrect Jean rotten corpse and then make thre Red Queen posses it?. Hence that cover with Jean´s body rising of the tomb ?

DIAF. your post is non-canon.
Fraction has shown he's full of crap. He's touting his strong-female agenda in Uncanny and then bypassing one of the more intriguing females in the x-verse with Aurora - who has the same speedster power that Fraction's been yapping about with Northstar and his needed role in the X-men. He just wants to get his rocks off and write hetero-cum-homo innuendo for Jean-Paul.

He's been on a mission to bring more women into Uncanny..... he can't properly write the ones that he has. I guess the Russian prostitutes was a part of that mission.
Let me know when Fraction is officially off all things dealing with X-Men. He's really doing yet another Phoenix story.... because that's what Red Queen is after, the frickin' Phoenix!.... there's no other reason to want to raise Jean Grey from the dead... but to get control of the Phoenix... and who cares?
I was really hoping the Sisterhood arc would be good with Psylocke's return, now I'm hoping the DA/X-Men crossover will be good..... oh, but Fraction is writing it.
And what the heck does he have Storm doing in her one panel? I hope her panel has nothing to do with Colossus at a Raiders game. Can't tell who some of the characters are that Land had drawn.... wow, he really is THAT awful.
Continuity? I have no clue when any of this is taking place. Pixie is all "fierce" now with her new little soul dagger with the bloodstone in it. Surge is out and about. I know that events aren't taking place simultaneously across the books, but it looks like Uncanny is trying to keep up with satellite titles when it should be Uncanny driving the other books..... what a mess!

I believe Matt Fraction says that that is Maddie and also in this interview about midway down my friend, he says it had to be put off so Maddie could gather her pieces. He also said we would get to see why she needed to set it all up the way she did.We must have read a different interview because he stated it was not Maddie at all.

They have been hinting at a Jean return for quite some time now at the cons post SDCC 2008. Before SDCC 2008, they almost always denied a Jean return, didn't they? I believe Fraction MIGHT be doing a recap of sorts of the most recent X activity condensed into a few pages.

Anyway, by this interview looks like Fraction got his "inspiration" from Civil War:
Norman= Maria Hill
Emma= Tony Stark
Scott= Cap. America
With Daken, Namor, Mimic, etc, being Emma's Venom, Taskmaster, Osborn himself, etc. And Magneto (or at least Exodus) will certainly show up and be Scott's "Punisher".
Of course it won't end the same, among other things because there is already two X-men books (more, actually), Scott's side has all the relevant X-men, DKR is ending in the fall (and for the Nth time, yeah, both Joe Q and Bendis have said exactly that), and Tony and Cap weren't sleeping together (which would explain a lot, though).
You can expect one battle between the "Dark" X-men and the one that isn't Dark but has a team of killers and Mags/Exodus, and in the end all of them (except Namor, which will realize that if the woman hasn't called back in years, and you have seen her playing an arrogant jerk that thought he was getting under her pants for old times sake, you ain't getting any) fighting Osborn's forces.

At this point, I don't really care how Jean returns, as long as she does--- whether she has been reborn as Hope or will be reborn as a Red Queen controlled Zombie.
But I don't think its crazy to suspect that Hope might be Jean or to want her to be as it would have been such a powerful new story for Jean.
The fans that speculated that the Messiah Baby was Apocalypse, Nate Grey, or a Celestial reborn were much crazier.
Also, they never stated that the Messiah Baby wasn't Jean in an interview. All they said was that the parents were not established characters in response to a question asking whether Madrox and Siryn were the parents.
Writers and editors consistently refused to answer whether the Messiah Baby was a new character or a character reborn, although they did admit that there was misdirection involved.
Some posters claiming to have insider information have said that originally the Messiah Baby was going to be Jean (the script in the Messiah Complex HC seems to confirm this) but they changed their minds. Then after meeting an editor at a comic con, another poster claimed that they might have changed their minds back because supposedly most of the writers and editors wanted the child to be Jean. Several posters encouraged others to write Marvel and ask them not to make the baby be Jean.
It was rumored that an editor at one of the cons told a fan that Jean would return within the next year or so whether she turns out to be the child or not.
So who knows what will happen.

It doesn't because she wasn't. Scott's always been unfaithful, hooking up when bodies are still warm or when wives are still married to him. He's terrible at relationships because he needs them to be stable. He's co-dependent and obsessive when things are going well and then bales as soon as things get bumpy to immediately hook up with someone else. He has some extreme emotional baggage that probably stems from his abandonment issues. He is an adulterous husband and a selfish lover. Women like him because he is needy and can be controlled but is still manly and strong. Scott has difficulties with accepting responsibility and usually tries to pass the buck to the nearest authority figure.

I think they should just send Beast and the X-Club into the "future" a la Forge to find the cure for M-Day...and pretty much just be summarily forgotten about for years.
Similar to Layla Miller during Mesiah Complex...but unlike Layla in that they actually brought her and her "story" back.

In theory, these various plots want to sound interesting...but we all know, the execution is going to be as drab as ten-days old porridge and just as unsightly and un-palatable.
No thank you, not interested.
If only Uncanny wasn't porn-traced copy/pasted, Fraction's efforts might be more flavorful.
Darkness, I think you're so close to being correct.
Red Queen doesn't want anything to do with Jean's body. Jean/Phoenix would defeat her instantly. Red wants power she can manipulate. She has her vessel ready, too. Empath's currently being tenderized for Nate Grey.

The real question of course is: WHERE THE HELL IS SHE GOING TO GET JEAN'S BODY? It was resurrected by Land's porn drawings like four years ago and currently sexes up the WHR.
But Pak stated (clarified) in an interview later that the event-horizon explosion at the end of Endsong vaporized her body after which she returned to the WHR, body-less. Not that Fraction will likely know that of course, maybe he'll even ignore Endsong itself.
But he has said (hasn't he?) that the Sisterhood is in SF for a very specific reason. Unless he thinks Jean is buried there that can hardly be it. And they were there before the X-Men so that's not it either.

Graaaaaah. Just read the interview. Pissed off as hell about it; need to rant. Anyone who's had enough ranting about this (I note the 11 pages previous that I haven't read), feel free to ignore this post; it probably repeats many previously made points.
First... Greg Land!?! Seriously? I just read the latest issue and... wow. Fail. For this issue, they choose the Marvel artist most skilled at writing indistinguishible porn cartoons... I mean, women. In skimpy outfits. Making weird poses. Did I mention they all look the same? The whole issue was "blond girl", "redhead girl", "black-haired girl", oh, and Domino. Every female character has the same face, the same orgasmic expressions, the same zoomed-in-on cleavage...
And this right before they release an article in which they stress, oh-so-enthusiastically, how they're trying to bring more women in to X-men??? I can really see how that discussion went. "Oh guys, you know what we could do to make X-men sell better? Let's add girls! Lots of them! Strong female characters! Everybody loves that!" So we get the Sisterhood of Zombie Strippers (not that the protagonist females were any better; just that flash of Hepzibah was... disturbing).
Does Fraction have any idea how dumb this is? Just broadcasting this "initiative" to add females is insanely offensive. It's the gender-focus equivalent of publicly announcing "Just to prove how open-minded I am, I'm going to write a book about black people!" YES, the MU is gender imbalanced, and female characters are frequently minimized. But to fix this... they dig up every dead female character because they think squabbling porn stars muttering "yes mistress" qualify as strong female characters? Or maybe Rao the boy's club waitress is the female protagonist. NO. FAIL.
And all this talk about Dark X-Men... really??? Frost is actually going to make Osborn his own little team of traitors? I freaking respected her! Seriously, why the hell would she do this? Oh yeah, because he picked her as part of his evil team. Such a compelling reason to betray everything you've chosen to value. And this new team is... WHY?? They are so NOT X-men!!!
Let's see... Prof X? Mastermind type. Pretty near never went into the field when he was leading the X-men; why the hell would he go now? Not to mention that his presence minimizes Emma's usefulness; you don't need two superpowerful psychics. Namor? Yes, he's a mutant, but he's also the freaking King of Atlantis. He has better things to do. And everyone knows his great love for taking orders. Another wonderful subordinate. Cloak and Dagger? What the freaking... they aren't mutants!!! At all! They are NOT X-men, or X-men candidates, or... gaaah!!!
Seriously, this really seems like Marvel's way of getting rid of Emma so Jean can come back and jump in Cyclops' bed. But unless they do a much better job than I think they will, they're effectively wiping her character off the map. Frost was one of the best, especially after what Wheedon did with her. Don't do this, Marvel...
Okay, rant over with. Resume sanity. If I can...

I thought last issue was pretty good, story-wise. I'd still prefer a different artist.
I feel like anything that has to do with Jean during this storyarc is misdirection and I would like it to stay that way. I'd rather Jean stay dead, or stuck in the White Hot Room, or Alkali Lake or whatever.
I think Fraction is great, not every issue is on fire, but he's usually pretty great. I think he has a handle on the X-Men. The Science Team is kind of bizarre, but I like it. I can go for this stuff.

Composed almost exclusively of characters that are uninteresting, should never be X-men, or both? There are too many characters in the book already?
But anyway, this won't last past this crossover.
EDIT: Just to add that I agree Uncanny sucks at the moment, but has nothing to do with the characters, nearly all of them are interesting with other writers. Changing the cast won't make this book any better, getting another writer (and artist to replace Land) will.

This will be the thread of the year.
Now did she actually start scissoring her face or was she interrupted?
No, I'll be interrupted by Hi-Fi.
Then we'll all top him. <3 <3
I wish to be Polaris-themed! I'll also get on that boy to post the next issue this week. I've missed it too. Are we at Bizarre Love Triangle yet?
Derail, derail, derail, derail.
Must come back! I feel terrible for never contributing much, but next Monday should be fairly open. <3 <3

So... Surge survived the Leper Queen? Or is the X-Force arc after this Uncanny arc? Anyone know?
Also, Pixie, was the Uncanny arc before or after Limbo?
I assume this is before. The comics are uncannily well-timed together at the moment, and it makes most sense for this to be pre-Messiah Wars.
Pixie's flamin' dagger is looking more powerful though, so I assume this issue is post-Infernus. Also, Nightcrawler is still moping.

Crazy Po would be more fun.
I don't want Beast to die, but it want him forever banished to his labratory, unable to ever leave.
The rest of the X-Club can die. I say they allow Bishop to murder the X-Club so we'll hate him less. I want Beast back in his "classic" ape form. Dr Nemisis is cool. Keep him. Madison Jeffries should be beaten to death by his wife for sending her to Neverland.
Didn't Beast just learn about women too, and that you can reproduce with them? He's always known about women; he's stooped so low as to have a relationship with Dazzler.
Well, he *did* bring a woman in the x-club to 'reverse' M-Day. Nope. The MEN are there to reverse M-Day. Dr. Rao is there to make coffee.
If only Uncanny wasn't porn-traced copy/pasted, Fraction's efforts might be more flavorful.
Darkness, I think you're so close to being correct.
Red Queen doesn't want anything to do with Jean's body. Jean/Phoenix would defeat her instantly. Red wants power she can manipulate. She has her vessel ready, too. Hellion's currently being tenderized for Nate Grey.
Red is one of the stray Phoenix fragmemts that Jean's done such a piss poor job of integratng. I'm wondering if Red stole Rachel and Korvus' fragments.
may have already been asked..but, for the Dark X-men deal..since when are Cloak and Dagger muties?
Latent mutants, powers activated by drugs, technically mutates but close enough. It's going to go back and forth at Marvel's conveniance; just like whether or not Polaris is really Magneto's daughter.
I was the one that brought that up and I NEVER claimed Jean fans weren't crazy. Just in the current climate, that Cyke, Dazz and BP fans out-crazy them. Look at this board, peruse a few threads. Its freaking nuts in here. I guess I could have added Magneto fans, but they've been relatively quiet recently (I believe they were silenced by the Glitterati). Magneto fans are waiting to see how recent developments play out and will react when the time is right.

The uncanny arc takes place before infernus and the arc in x-force. its simple enough.
Not to quibble, but it looked to me like this arc may take place after X-Infernus, if for nothing else than the fact that Pixie's dagger is shown to be red - just as it was at the end of X-Infernus. (Prior to that, the dagger usually radiated a blue energy.)
Also, if you look closely at the dagger, it looks like it contains a bloodstone - also like at the end of X-Infernus, when Illyana and Pixie removed the fifth bloodstone from the Beatrix Medallion and it embedded itself in the dagger.

I WILL RIP OUT YOUR CENTRAL NERVOUS SYSTEM AND PLAY IT LIKE A VIOLIN!!!!!!!!!!
Are you daft?! We don't have crazy posters named long live alison blaire or have some insane Lois London Loonies like your ilk is responsible for both the Cable meatheads and RACHEL GREY FANS.
So GTFO SLUNG!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I'm sorry you're right, you couldn't possibly be the craziest fandom here on CBR...It must be the handful of segregated Jean fans who pretty much stay in their own little thread. THAT makes sense. It couldn't possibly be the Glitterati who try to drive off everyone else on the board or threaten the lives and professions of posters, writers and artists because they don't "understand" Dazzler. It must be those Jean fans.
And don't you DARE lump us into R'Chel and Cable fantards. I don't blame your queer as folk for the demented Sage fans or that annoying Nocturne fan.
I
I feel like anything that has to do with Jean during this storyarc is misdirection and I would like it to stay that way. I'd rather Jean stay dead, or stuck in the White Hot Room, or Alkali Lake or whatever.
You sir are terribly, terribly misguided.
Yes you did claim that. And you guys are hands down the nuttiest. PS, it was not the Glitterati who silenced the Magneto fans. It was because of civil unrest between two of their prophets.
The next time your system is able to properly boot and you've managed to defragment the misplaced data, you will hopefully have enough memory to process all of this and trouble shoot this fatal error.
PS - I love you all.

If Red Queen jumps into Jean's body, if there is one, how would she gain the Phoenix if its bonded to her in the White Hot Room?

correct. although it's up to interpretation about what happened to her at the end of endsong, she either a) ascended into the white hot room with her body or b) allowed her body to be obliterated by the event horizon while saving everyone else. i think i read an interview somewhere that pak meant the latter to be what happened.

See, I don't even see that many Jean Grey fans on here, so I don't get the WAY crazy part. I've seen a few nutty ones (the ones who have turned Jean into a religion) But I see more than a few psychotic Lord Magneto fans. Defenders of all things Cyclops fans (who seemingly hate Storm). I've never seen such an organized cult as the Dazzler fans. The sheer arguing power of the Storm/BP fans is unheard of.
I'm just not seeing it.

I have to agree with Slung on this point. There seem to be more R'Chel fans here (God knows why) than Jean fans, even. Jean/Emma disputes rarely escalate to the level of Cyclops/Storm arguments, either.
As far as the "organized Dazzler cult" ... I'll take that as praise. The Glitterati thank you, Slung! Now bear tribute to our goddess ....
