I don't know how I feel about this yet, I don't really like it. Hopefully it will be better when it is inked..

I agree that cover's not appealling. I don't get people's fascination or appreciate for his work. I've never liked any of it.

It should look a lot better colored, but I do love Quitely's style. That Batman looks very cool.

I'm not sure what to expect. Quitely is hit and miss for me. His New X-Men run didn't do it for me, but I enjoyed his work on All-Star Supes.
I'm not particularly happy with these first two covers, though... personal preference, but for me, it feels like he won't translate well to the Bat-Verse.

A little better, but I'm still not a fan of it, and I loved the first one.

Um...it looks even worse, especially the blue

Wow, that's really blue and bright. I was expecting something darker since I thought the image on the cover was happening at night. Anyway, Quitely is hit or miss for me too. Sometimes his people look pretty okay, and other times they look just weird.

Quoted for truth. I feel the exact same way. The Bat-verse is really too... "dark", I feel for Quitely's art. I'm really starting to wish they go with another artist for this series.

Actually, I think it looks great. Judging by what Morrison's been saying about the book and it's themes and content, I'd say Quitely is going to be perfect.

Not a fan.
Seems like BATMAN & ROBIN is going for the bright and colorful look. Yellow, now blue...what next? Pink?
This looks exactly as Morrison promised - a sort of neon goth-style Batman & Robin, and Quitely's the perfect artist for that sort of mood. I recently read Batman: Scottish Connection for the first time and it's great. If you haven't read it, i recommend it, it'll give you a good idea of how this title might look. Which will be amazing.

You're right...he did say numerous times he was going for a lighter Batman. I guess I'm just not used to it. I stand corrected.

Man that looks amazing! It feels like a different Batman. This isn't supposed to be Bruce's Gotham that's supposed to be drenched in years and years of pessimism. This a new Dynamic Duo that thinks they can make a difference but will ultimately fail.

Was going to say I can't wait to see it coloured, it looks pretty damn cool I reckon. I definately liked the yellow better than the blue, but it's still a great cover. I love Quitely's style and as far removed as it might be from typical Batman stuff, that's exactly why I can't wait to see it, something different and unconventional. I mean I'd much rather not like something becasue it was too different than because it was more of the same.
Yeah, this post sounds really negative, it's not though, haha. Can't wait for the previews of the interiors, I think this will be a fantastic book.
Is Quitely doing the entire run? I seem to remember reading he's slow so he'll only be doing the first four issues, or rotating through arcs or something.
Can anyone confirm that?

There's 4 x 3-issue arcs and he's doing the first and last, apparently. Rumour is the Joker returns in the final 3 issues...

Doesn't look like Jamie Grant is doing the coloring, which is a little disappointing, the coloring shown isn't bad by any stretch.
Quitely is probably the best sequential storyteller working in comics today, so to judge his arc by only the covers is kind of missing the point of what he does and what a comic book is. Really looking forward to this.

looking at this cover again, I think I know what it is that's off putting. It's hte fact that the backgroudn is sky blue, making it looks like Batman's gonna be operating in the day timeor something like that. And each time I see this cover I like it a little mroe. It's weird but it works, can't wait to see what Quitely's Gotham will look like.

Pink neon to be exact. I'm not joking. Morrison talked about replacing dark shadows with silhouettes over neon in an interview

Don't judge a book (or comic) anyone at first glance? The style may not be what you're used to, but it has been pretty obvious to anyone who has followed Quitely's work from Allstar Superman. You either like it or you don't, especially after the solicits from this title were initially released.
It works or doesn't. The art may or may not agree with most people. Too aged or craggy, or what have you and may suit preference. Quitely's art has a polarizing effect on many people. Hopefully it won't affect the story too much, and how people judge it. For emphasis:
This looks exactly as Morrison promised - a sort of neon goth-style Batman & Robin, and Quitely's the perfect artist for that sort of mood.

May shed some light on what to expect. Art criticism aside on the covers, it is well worth a shot, esecially if the reader previously enjoyed #666.
" ...'Batman and Robin' mostly features all new characters, villains and situation – although some were previously glimpsed in Batman #666 - but it builds on everything that's gone before. ..."
Personally, that gets my interest for the title.
