Do you prefer Gambit as a Anti-Hero or would you like to see him in a darker role as a Villian

I prefer him as villian really. But it is just my biased opinion really because I do not like Gambit

I wonder if fans of Gambit like it better if he is more focused on in stories as a villian than as X-Man.

As long as he pops up occasionally in Xmen, it doesn't really matter to me whether he's featured as a villian or an anti-hero.

I thought it was great when he voluntered to join Apocalypse. What was bad, was that he disappeared for almost a year or more. He didn't appear until Messiah Complex.

So as long as Gambit's around, in some shape or form, that is all that matters to me.

He kinda sucks as a villain. BoA, and Blinded by the light/Messiah complex showed us this.

He really doesn't have the motivation or cause to oppose anyone really, like a Magneto would. He's just the type that would just bugger off and go back to thieving.

Anti- Hero Gambit would make an aweful villian whats his motive we've already seen in Gambit #24 he doesnt want power its the whole reson he went to Sinister in the first place ,he does;nt need money and doesnt really care bout mutants rights and waht not Gambits best when hes working in the Gray areas like in MC

Anti-Hero all the way, I really do not think the villain thing fits him at all to be honest.

I prefer him not the Marvel Universe.

Ultimate World is fine.

Villain as he was originally intended.

Gambit was meant to be an anti-hero. He has a heart of gold and devil's charisma. That's what I love him for. He is an Emma Frost stab-you-in-the-back-for-your-own-good type of character.

I (Well not me youtube) have video proof that claremont made him to betray the xmen.

Anti-hero, and untainted by Rogue please.

Anti-hero. Doesn't make sense for him to be anything else.

Not as a villain, but not as a hero, either. I like Gambit when he's more of a trouble maker, or a meddler who has to do the right thing against his preference. Sort of like Sawyer from Lost, but with crazy explody powers.

Anti-hero without a doubt. He should be the kind of guy who'd step in to stop a bank robbery...but only so he could make off with the money instead.

Getting the hell away from Rogue is a must whatever else the case may be.

Neither. He's somewhere in between. Which is fine.

I'd prefer him to be a villain instead of an anti-hero It suits him well, just imagine a grinning gambit throwing anything in the city and it glows all red and the superheroes he touches even bursts too NICE!

It's easier for writers to embarrass the character for being a jerk as a hero than as a villian.

Gambit is a liar and a deceiver. He cannot be trusted and he will always be a villian and a backstabber in my eyes. Rogue honey U have to do better.

The irony of this coming from someone with "Emma" in their title throws me onto the floor in a fit of laughter.

This place is so amusing.

Gambit has never seemed like a villian to me. He is thief, but a fairly honorable one who pays his debts and such. Of course there no honor among thieves. He falls in the grey and does what he thinks is best... but rarely does that ever make him a villian.

Gambit as villain = blue smurf with fart powers.

I'll opt for anti-hero solely to avoid that farce again.

My only preference for Gambit is for him to not be a love sick puppy who follows and pines away for Rogue. Beyond that, I don't care.

I did find him very intimidating in X-Men Evolution when he was a bad guy, prefer him as a hero but as a bad guy he takes on a really creepy air. Fart Gambit could have been much cooler than what he ended up.

Anti-Hero member of the X-Men who is not on Rogue's team and not dating her...I didn't like them together, at first it was ok, but then it just got annoying...let Remy move on to greener pastures, please.

Rememer Rogue told HIM not to come after her not the other way around. Rogue doesn't need Gambit, Gambit needs her and been proven how many times had Gambit kept things from Rogue in order to keep her. Rogue needs to get with Pulse and drop this loser like a bad habit. Also to the person who commented about me being an Emma fan and dislikng Gambit...Emma is MORE trust worthy than Gambit will ever be

You can be an Emma fan and hate Gambit. I hate Emma. I think she's a plastic poser who road her lover's coattails into a leadership position she would have never gotten without spreading her legs. So what?

The humor comes from an Emma fan calling any other character out on their "untrustworthness". If the irony escapes you then I'll enjoy it all myself.

Emma and trustworthy don't ever belong in the same sentence. Or even the same paragraph.

Gambit should join up with a couple more characters and start controlling the criminal underworld.

Omerta, Gambit, Outlaw plus a couple more for example

I have to agree. I always compare him to Jack Sparrow.. He is this guy who you are never sure who's side he is on or what his real intentions are.

I also think he works 150 x better as a solo character.

Gambit's behavior is by definition that of an anti - hero generally.

He therefore fits that title best.

I would honestly prefer him as neither.

I don't want his motives to be for "good" (per-say) at all.

Well, not for any greater good than for him and his. (him and his = close friends and lovers) This is not to say his goals cannot parallel the good if paths of heroes and his crossed....or him and villains for that matter.

Some call that behavior that of an anti -hero abd it is...but generally in stories theywind up doing things for hte greater good....Gambit simnply shouldn't.

Reading my post, I guess there's no way to find a gray area between anti- hero and anything else...anti-hero is too broad, but thats what I'd want.
