What are your favorite Batman stories that have not appeared in trades? I can't think of any off the top of my head, but I'm sure you guys and gals have plenty to say.

Brubaker and Rucka's run from a little while back.
That's about it.

I did forget about LotDK. A few James Robinson arcs, the Gage stuff from the end. I'm sure I'm forgetting something.

I could stand to see a lot more Seventies/Eighties Batman collected. The penthouse era.
And Elliot S! Maggin Bat-family stuff. I think Maggin's Batgirl and Robin are my Batgirl and Robin in a lot of ways.

I'd have actually liked to have seen the Knights Quest stuff from the Knightfall arcs collected - Bruce's search for a cure and Azrael's time as Batman.
Also, the pre NML stuff with Bruce Wayne petitioning to preserve Gotham etc.

I think this has been collected at some point but it's definately out of print and hard to get hold of:
Byrne and Aparo's THE MANY DEATHS OF THE BATMAN. It was only 3 issues so printing Byrne's other (non-GENERATIONS) Batman stuff and a couple of Jim Aparo issues to round out the trade would be nice.

Early-to-mid 80s, the Gerry Conway run and then the first Doug Moench run (which was vastly superior to Moench's second long run as a Batman writer in the 1990s, for some reason).

Oooh, that'd be great. A lot more Bronze Age stuff.
I'd also have to say the Prodigal storyline where Dick first became Batman. I'm really surprised it's not being released now to coincide with Battle For The Cowl.

Yup, published in 1992.

But I love your Byrne/Aparo TPB idea. I'm surprised/upset there's hasn't been an Aparo TPB devoted to collecting a bunch of his Batman work.

Everything Denny O'Neil edited... highlights of which would include the Grant/Breyfogle, the Peter Milligan, and the Jim Starlin runs.

Yeah... It irritates the crap out of me that DC never collected either of the KnightQuest stories. They collected everything else, but seemed to ignore that completely.

I'll second that. Also...
Knightquest: The Search (this would fit into one volume and is an important link between Knightfall and Knightsend)
Road to No Man's Land (important lead-in to NML and bridges the gap between Cataclysm and NML)
Catwoman: Year One (and include the follow-up story from Action Comics Weekly; I thought this was pretty decent.)
Catwoman (uncollected issues by Brubaker and Pfeifer)
Detective Comics (uncollected Rucka issues, which is most of them)
Robin (all of Chuck Dixon's uncollected issues, which is most of them)
I'm sure I'm missing some.

I assume this includes the Crusade issues as well?
Road to No Man's Land (important lead-in to NML and bridges the gap between Cataclysm and No Man's Land)
Add in the Aftershock, Brotherhood of the Fist, DC 1M & remaining NML issues.

Peter Milligan had a fantastic run of single issue stories that's dying to be collected.
Knightquest: The Search is quite important continuity-wise, but unfortunately is just terrible.
Knightquest: The Crusade is much better, but too long for one TPB. A big TPB or two collecting the highlights would be a good idea though.
Mike W Barr and Alan Davis had a good run too.

I think it may be out of print at the moment, but I wouldn't be surprised to see a new printing if Dick does indeed become Batman again.

Knightquest: The Search is quite important continuity-wise, and fortunately is rather good.

Dead reckoning by brubaker? that sounds interesting. tell me more.
From an interview before the storyline started,
The first six issues are a story called Dead Reckoning, about a secret buried in the past of some of Gotham's more vicious rogues. Now someone involved in that secret is back in town, and picking off those he blames for his problems.

I'm partial to:
Grant's "Corrosive Man" (Detective #587-589)
Ostrander's "Comic within a comic" (Detective #622-624).
Probably because they were the first two complete arcs I owned when I was about 8-10 years old.

same as what I posted last thread on this. you don't have delve to far to think of great uncollected Batman runs. many have already been mentioned.
Peter Milligans Detective one shots and Riddler arc
Doug Moench and Gene Colan early 80's
Douch Moench and Kelly Jones early 90's
Alan Grant John Wagner Norm Breyfogle
Jim Starlin in particularly the Death in the Family lead-up

10 Nights of the KGBeast. Package it with the sequel against the NKVDemon.
I'd personally like to see DC make another Ra's Al Ghul trade paperback and compile those 80s graphic novels Birth of the Demon, Bride of the Demon and Son of the Demon. I got the Son of the Demon when they reprinted it as a comic a few years back, but don't have the other two, although I read Bride of the Demon.
Birth of the Demon is pretty hard to find and expensive when you do see a copy.

It's probably not that good really [I don't believe it's collected] but there was a string, I think like Batman 331-335, where Robin and Batman have a slight falling out because Batman allows Talia to stay with him, that I always enjoyed.

Get it if you can. It's the first and best telling of Ra's origin, by Ra's creator, and beautiful Norm Breyfogle art.
