Current? Dilbert, I suppose. There aren't many funny ones today.
All-time, probably Calvin and Hobbes, although The Far Side has always made me laugh the hardest.

All-time? The aforementioned C&H and Far Side.
Current? Not a one.

Let's see, paid the $150 for the Calvin and Hobbes Collection.
Currently have the first 10 volumes or so of Peanuts (those two year volumes that come out every six months).
I read Fox Trot, shame its Sunday only now. Get Fuzzy used to be great but now its a bit repetitive. Number five would probably be a tie between PvP and Penny Arcade.

Favorite currently new material newspaper comic: Doonesbury
Favorite newspaper comics of all time not with new material printed in newspapers: Peanuts, Pogo, Little Nemo, The Spirit, Popeye, Terry and the Pirates, Calvin and Hobbs.
There might be some that have escaped my mind.

My all time favorites are Calvin & Hobbes, Peanuts and Far Side.
Currently, I'm a big fan of Mutts. It's adorable, and I love Patrick McDonnell's art. I'm also a huge believer in adopting shelter animals, so I like its message too.

Easily the Perry Bible Fellowship. Of course now you can find the collected edition of Gurewitch's work in the comic store, as he's no longer producing it for the newspapers.

My favourite strip is Dilbert but the newspaper I read (Daily Express) also prints Calvin & Hobbes so I have the best current strip and the best classic strip. Yeeeaaah!

My favourite would be Madam & Eve (http://www.mg.co.za/madameve/all), which is very popular here in South Africa. Centers around quirks in sa's politics and society, so it may be less than clear for non-SA audiences.

Does Fred Hembeck's stuff for CBG count as a newspaper comic?

More love for Calvin and Hobbes and Far Side.
Dilbert and Non Sequitur are the only two I read currently.
Garfield used to be a favorite, but no longer.

I only read the sunday funnies, but I do enjoy Dilbert, Monty, Deflocked, Sally Forth and Big Nate.
My overall favorite strips include: Monty, Dilbert, Foxtrot, Get Fuzzy, Peanuts, Calvin and Hobbes, The Far Side, and Liberty Meadows (back before Cho switched it to being Comic Book)

Calvin & Hobbes is the obvious choice, but really it has to be Jeff Hawke (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jeff_Hawke).

I love Argyle Sweater. A lot of them are fairytale jokes, and I love fairytales.
Mutts is good, and I also like Pajama Diaries and Overboard.

But Lio's better.

Lio is hit or miss for me. Sometimes I love it, sometimes, I'm not too fond of it. Same goes for Pearls Before Swine and Get Fuzzy. Get Fuzzy has lost a lot of its appeal, because it's just not as funny as it was a couple years ago.
